Someone asked me what it looks like to work together…

Imagine you show up for a coffee date, a walk, or a bike ride with a trusted friend, and you have been carrying something that has been weighing on your mind for weeks... maybe months…

You tell her the story.
You tell her what happened with all of the juicy details.
What you have tried.
What everyone else thinks you should do.

Then she starts asking gentle, thoughtful questions.

Not because she has the answer.

But because she understands personalized questions will help you hear your own signal.

Together, you slowly weave through what’s signal and what’s noise.

Not looking for the “right” decision, but listening for what is already true.

As you make space for Wisdom or Peace to settle in, something begins to shift.

Your own Essence becomes easier to recognize.

Usually there are tears and tissues; and a few laughs.

A few moments of, “Oh... I never thought of that before.”

And then you notice the weight you have been carrying has started to lift.

Not because she told you what to do.

But because you remembered how to hear yourself again.

That is what it is like to work with me: gentle, honest question weaving that helps you reconnect with your own signal and hear what is true.

If you have something you have been carrying that you are ready to weave through together, this is exactly what a Clarity Session is for.

Drop CLARITY in the comments and I will 💌 you the details.

WELCOME

If you are new here—welcome, I’m Dana. I want to give you a sense of who I am and how I work with women.

WHAT I DO

I am an Integration Guide.

I show women who know something is off, yet cannot quite see what, how to recognize what is happening within them and reconnect with themselves.

Then, if desired, I support them as they discern what is true, what is theirs to carry, what is not, and how to respond with integrity to what comes next.

My work is less about adding information. And more about helping you hear yourself again.

MY APPROACH

I work with the whole of you—body, soul, and essence.

Together, we pay attention to what your body is communicating, the stories and emotions influencing your perception, and the deeper orientation that remains when the noise settles.

I also support women with nutrition, exercise, sleep, and other practices that resource the body—without turning wellness into another place of control or override.

Whatever we are working with, this is not about handing your authority to me. It is about strengthening your ability to recognize what is true and respond from there.

Truth, integrity, agency, presence, and internal consent are at the core of how I work.

FAITH

My faith is central to who I am and how I understand healing, truth, and integration. Faith may enter the work because it is part of how I orient to life. I do not use it to override your questions, bypass your experience, or prescribe what your life should look like.

PERSONAL LIFE

I am in my early 40s, recently remarried, and building a new chapter of my life. I love slow mornings, meaningful conversation, time outside, cycling, and a good laugh!

My life has included significant endings, beginnings, and identity shifts. I do not teach transition from a distance.

MY PATH

I spent 15 years working as a RN before retiring from my career and moving fully into this work. My healthcare background, training as an Integrative Health Practitioner, and personal experiences taught me that the body, our lived experience, and how we understand what is happening cannot be separated.

I am glad you found your way here.

If I could name the opportunity many of the women in my community are being invited to engage right now, it would be this:

The invitation to discover that they can remain present through discomfort rather than abandoning themselves to escape through relief, override, or avoidance.

The goal is not to eliminate discomfort. It is to develop the capacity to remain in relationship with themselves while experiencing it.

An important distinction: Remaining present does not mean remaining in harmful circumstances. A woman can stay connected to herself while recognizing that something needs to change, a boundary needs to be established, or a situation needs to end.

Does this speak to the season of growth you are in? by @danasdigest

Saturday was my birthday.

This past year has been full of plot twists and wild rides. I was hoping for a more settled pace, but maybe things have to get crazier after major life transitions before the new gets to settle into routine.

Most of my life, I have been a calculated planner and strategist. The irony is that I have rarely been able to predict what is ahead, and whenever I think I have a plan, it tends to unfold differently than I imagined.

That being said, I do have clarity on a few things after 43 rotations around the sun. Swipe through. 👉

Some of that clarity came through beautiful experiences. And some of it emerged through difficult transitions, disappointment, relationships, and learning to recognize what is true even when it is uncomfortable.

Life is full of uncertainty. The more I embrace the mystery and tension of it, the more grounded and peace-filled I become. As I enter another year of life, I am not going to pretend I have any idea what is coming next. I know what I hope will happen, but life has taught me to hold my plans a little more loosely.

What I do want is to keep cultivating clarity, consent, reciprocal relationships, agency, and the capacity to participate in whatever life brings without continually overriding what is true.

And peace and joy. More room for peace and joy.

Which one landed for you? Tell me in the comments.

The full reflection, including the pieces that did not fit here, is on the blog. DM me “43,” and I will send you the full blog link. 🔗 by @danasdigest

I was pondering a recent client conversation about how surreal these times feel. About how every time I go to the grocery store, gym, or drive to my local walking trail, I wonder how we arrived at the point where the fake is lording over the authentic.

We talked about how this feeling could be getting older, wiser, and gaining perspective, or whether the feeling is related to how we presently live in a time like no other in history. A time where technology has possibly surpassed humanity’s capacity to wisely navigate the technological advances that have been made.

I consider things like:

Lab-grown meat and eggs. Botox. Plastic everywhere. Forever chemicals in intimate clothing. Disposable everything.

Cheap housing that lacks character, artificially heated and cooled, and severely overpriced.

Pharmaceuticals and petro-funded medical education. Hospitals that boast healing, yet are so disconnected from nature that many of their healthful claims simply do not make sense.

Credit cards and inflation. Urban and concrete sprawls. Surveillance cameras. Self-centered politicians. Ego over humility.

Tap water that is supposed to be safe and clean, but is contaminated with synthetic materials of all kinds.

AI-generated accounts, impersonations, and misinformation.

People trying to be someone or something they weren’t designed to be.

The desire for superficial chitchat over deeper conversations.

Making the stuff and the doing more important than the people and the being.

Sometimes I look around and wonder: What is even real anymore?

On the other hand, I get it cause I am in it too! I love my RLT, the convenience of Amazon deliveries, all the goods that help me stay healthy and feel comfortable in my skin.

The only way through the dichotomy of surreality, as far as I can tell, is to root deeply into connection with your authentic self, like-minded community, and Grounding Presence.

Because without a proper Compass, it can be difficult to stay oriented.

For me, the answer is not to become more suspicious of everything. It is to become and stay more deeply rooted in my ability to recognize what is happening while remaining connected with what is true by @danasdigest

I have been noticing myself distracted from my purpose lately. Mainly by my autumn “to-do list,” filled with all kinds of good things to get done.

I have also recently had some health news that required my focused attention for a short period of time. (I have to have surgery in December—more to come on that later.)

Alongside that, I have been feeling a sense of urgency.

Like I am behind, but also on time. Somewhere in the middle of knowing I need to get back into motion soon, but also not quite yet.

I inquired of Truth what I should know about these dueling signals, and I heard, “Wait, September is for rest.”

In the past, I would have disciplined myself into action.

Lately, though, I have been allowing extra space and time, holding both signals without forcing an outcome until I sense a nudge to engage again.

Timing matters. Process matters.

There is a divine order to how we are supposed to move through our lives that we can miss when uncertainty causes us to jump the gun.

Clarity does not always require immediate action.

Sometimes clarity requires listening what is true, allowing timing to reveal itself, and resisting the urge to manufacture movement simply because uncertainty feels uncomfortable.

This is one way I have been applying my own Clarity Process to cultivate peace in my life.

Have you ever embraced the distractions as a Divine timing?

Many women have had powerful moments of insight.

A retreat.
A coaching session.
A book that changed everything.
A moment where clarity finally happened.

For a few hours, days, or even weeks, everything feels clear.

Then reality shows up.

The difficult conversation.
The demanding boss.
The family gathering.
The new business venture.
The new diagnosis.
The uncertainty.
The old patterns.

And suddenly the truth that felt so powerful seems harder to access.

They might even begin to assume the uncertainty means the insight was not real.

Most of the time, I would disagree with this conclusion.

In my experience, this is where the real work of Integration begins.

A moment (or 2, or 3) can reveal what is true.

Full Integration happens when you are able to stay connected to what is true when life resumes its normal pressures.

This is one of the reasons I care so much about bridging the gap between awareness, internal consent, and agency.

Not because they create extraordinary moments.

But because they help you build the capacity necessary to stay in connection with yourself and truth, and remain in peace when reality inevitably arrives.

Sometimes your body needs resources before it needs more demand.

I follow strong fitness women I really respect. Women who teach weightlifting, interval training, strength, and training for not just performance, but longevity (there is a difference) because I want to be strong my whole life.

One of them recently shared advice that I think needs to be addressed with more nuance: if you feel tired, go exercise because exercise will generate energy.

Honestly, I heard that advice 20 years ago, and I think it may have harmed my health more than helped it.

Many women have spent a lot of time in a fitness world built around male structures, then assumed the same feedback applies to the female body.

Sometimes movement absolutely does generate energy. You activate systems. You get blood moving. You change how your body is using energy.

But what if you do not actually have the ingredients available to generate that energy?

Then pushing through may mean borrowing from somewhere else.

Your endocrine system. Your reproductive system. Your muscles. Your bones.

You can definitely produce enough felt energy to finish the workout, the adventure, whatever you are trying to accomplish — while simultaneously stealing resources away from other systems.

That is the IMPORTANT piece I think often gets missed.

Instead of automatically asking, “How do I push through this fatigue?” I think we need to ask, “Why am I tired?”

Is my body sitting on available energy but not utilizing it well? Or am I genuinely depleted?

Because those are two different situations.

If I am depleted, pushing harder is not necessarily resilience. It may be borrowing from a system that needs those resources for something else.

And that REALLY matters for women.

Our bodies have more physiological systems to consider than simply whether we can get through the workout.

So I do not love the “just exercise to create energy” message.

Sometimes movement creates energy.

And other times your body is telling you it needs resourced before it needs more demand.

What do you think about fitness and how we have treated the female body?

We all live in some version of an echo chamber.

Media. Family. Friends. Work. Education.

The people and information we surround ourselves with tend to reinforce certain ways of seeing things.

And if I could pause one word in mine right now, it would be “perimenopause.”

Not because I don’t believe hormonal changes are real.
Not because I haven’t experienced the consequences of my own life decisions.
And not because I think women don’t deserve thoughtful care.

My concern is what happens when a label becomes the explanation.

I once heard someone say that humans label things so we no longer have to think deeply about them.

We lump sum things under labels everywhere.

Left. Right.
Men. Women.
Race. Ethnicity.
Diagnosis.

Sure, labels can help us organize information.

But they can also give us the feeling that we understand something before we have remained fully curious about the individual person standing in front of us.

And that is what concerns me most about the current perimenopause conversation.

What if what gets placed underneath that label deserves a deeper question?

- What has she been compensating for?
- What has been depleted?
- How has she been living?
- What has she repeatedly overridden?
- What unrealistic demands has she adapted herself to for decades?
- What has her body been trying to communicate long before someone called it perimenopause?

I am not suggesting hormones are irrelevant.

I am suggesting that “perimenopause” should not become permission to stop investigating the whole woman.

Because I believe there is a bigger conversation here.

Our culture has historically rewarded qualities like output, consistency, productivity, endurance, and pushing through—while often asking cyclical, relational, receptive, or changing bodies to conform to those expectations.

Maybe the answer is not another pyramid with pharmaceuticals at the top as the absolute answer and everything else treated as supporting material.

I think it is time to shift into an ecosystem where different qualities, approaches, thoughts, and rhythms all have a legitimate place at the table.

Which would you choose to accompany you today: Wisdom, Truth, Peace, or Love?

In my last post, I shared about the 4 checks I use when filtering information and navigating who I allow to influence or educate me.

I have one more practice that is more important than the 4 checks I shared yesterday.

I will start by establishing this pattern: it is common for us to make these conscious decisions about who is influencing us from a place of self.

The thing is: self as source creates its own kind of misinterpretations. Self is only supposed to be half of the picture. Humans are designed to navigate life in participation with Peace, Truth, Love, and Wisdom.

With that clarified, the most important practice I would encourage you to adopt while navigating information and influence is to invite in what you sense you need in any given moment: Wisdom, Truth, Peace, or Love.

This practice is helpful in all areas of life because when self is the only source, even good information can become distorted.

But when you have a Grounding Presence, then you will be more empowered to decipher, discern, and apply information and influence more fluidly in your life.

Which would you choose today?
