Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined a life for myself in which I:
•Get to sell private dining & events for the greatest restaurant company I've ever known @hawksmoorrestaurants
•Am on the opening team of their newest location in the best nook of my favorite city @hawksmoorbos and
•Have my absolute favorite humans there by my side, supporting me through it all and celebrating my accomplishments.

Fortunate doesn't even begin to touch how I've been feeling lately.

A love letter to Fort Point.

In 2001, I began my first job in architecture in a 30-person office in Fort Point. I had just graduated from Syracuse University, the first person in my family to graduate from college, and I was working for free.

My parents were concerned.

Back then, the area now known as the Seaport was mostly parking lots and fishing docks, including the ones where my dad unloaded fish. Fort Point was a hidden gem filled with artists, architects, tucked-away restaurants, and mom-and-pop shops. It had an edge and a soul.

I spent 13 years there. We learned from one another, grew up together, fell in love, got married, and started families. The place and the people felt like home.

As the Seaport grew, Fort Point changed. Eventually, I moved outside the city and later started @artexperienced .

I forgot about Fort Point too.

Then I met @danasearle and she told me about the new @hawksmoorbos .. I was skeptical. But she invited me to visit and I went.

Tucked among the old mill buildings, it felt like a discovery. Inside, there were hand-drawn menus, brass fixtures, velvet seating, and handwritten chalkboards. It felt warm, layered, and personal. Somehow, it balanced the new neighborhood with the soul of the old one.

It felt like home.

When I was asked to create a postcard honoring the opening, I designed it to feel like a page from my sketchbook. Not perfect, but personal and comfortable.

We’re delighted to have Dana leading Sales & Events at Hawksmoor Boston when we open September 8.

She’s spent 20 years rocking Boston hospitality, helping open the Ames Hotel and working with @oceanprime, @mentonboston and @mistralboston.

88 days ago I chose LIFE.
I chose to LOVE myself.
To LEARN how to make myself happy and to embrace all of the things that bring me joy - human connection, delicious food, music, moving and loving my body.

28 days ago, I met Lia.
Within hours of our first (8+ hour) date, I knew she was different.
She saw me, heard me, celebrated me. For all that I am, for everything that I do, for the extraordinary human I am so proud to be.
She too, is exceptional. The best of the very best.

Never could I have imagined that this would be one of the many ways that the universe would reward the hard work I've put into myself.
I am beyond grateful.
We are two individuals, 100% on our own, 1000% together. Love is love baby.

The very best gift my parents gave me - sending me to CYJSL when I was 7 years old and every summer after...

Friendships going on 30 years, my proud Jewish identity and a heart so full all these years later, I feel like it's exploding.

No one in this world taught me more than my Aunt Barbara.
She was the ultimate gift.
If you were blessed to know her, you were made infinitely better for it.
Her strength, pride, character, generosity, humor, perseverance and passion for life were just a few of the remarkable traits that she instilled in me.
I was one of her 'jewels' and nothing made me happier than time spent together.

This ink means the most to me - it is the 'sage advice' that she so graciously offered us in her final words, recited after she passed.

This year marks 18 years without her - חי - life.

Not a day goes by without remembering her and honoring her memory.
