POSTS STORIES REELS

Saturday kicked off my sixth season working at the Met Opera! We had 4 @cameramovesinc remote heads on the show, split between @cam_moves and me. It’s always a pleasure working with such an incredibly talented team at one of my all-time favorite venues. by @danbalton

Saturday’s Power to the People Festival was one of the most thrilling days of my career, getting to be operating a jib on stage, capturing a dream lineup of musicians, including Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Foo Fighters, Tom Morello, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, and somehow so many more.
Over 9 hours of amazing live music with a message as important as ever. by @danbalton

The World Cup is over which means so is @therestisfootball. It was such a pleasure working with this incredible group over the course of a very intense 40 day shooting schedule. I got to bounce between operating the PTZ cameras and jib on the show. Shoutout to @ryanbalton @john_jake_hoover @raymondhoover413 @andrewmvella @coreyneal0 @matt_cancel and @mperez135, who all came in to operate throughout the tournament as well. Big thanks to director @marcdbaker, stage manager @conley_alan, DP @gthingdop, and the whole production team, all a delight to work with! by @danbalton

It was great having the ESPY Awards back in New York City this year! Always enjoy getting to shoot at Lincoln Center. Thanks Michael Dempsey and the entire production team for having us and thanks @juandavidsalas for a great week. by @danbalton

Really thankful to the @cameramovesinc team that braved the heat in DC for A Capitol Fourth (on the 3rd!) this year. Our 16 hour rehearsal day saw record breaking heat, a record set in 1898! Huge shoutout to @ryanbalton, @john_jake_hoover, @juandavidsalas at the Capitol while @cam_moves and @dustinbalton were shooting fireworks at Mount Vernon.
After 8 years working on this show, it means more than ever to be part of PBS and public media.
And extra shoutout to our Camera Moves team that was at the Macy’s fireworks show in New York: @andrewmvella, @sweeet5 and Danny Boehning!

Despite our rehearsal day being one of the rainiest of my career (not to mention unseasonably cold!), it was still an honor to be back shooting the National Memorial Day Concert for PBS last weekend. Grateful for our great @cameramovesinc team braving the elements and the entire Capital Concerts production team, who we’ve been working with for 9 years now! by @danbalton

BTS of BTS on TSJF
It was quite the full circle moment to shoot @bts.bighitofficial performing for @fallontonight at an iconic New York venue. We shot them 6 years ago at Grand Central Station and last week they returned to the show to perform 2 songs at the @Guggenheim Museum.
Huge thanks to the incredible Tonight Show crew and @esm_productions, as well as @dandenitto working with me on our Scorpio 23’L while @ryanbalton and @juandavidsalas had one of our jibs in the balcony for the amazing overhead shots.

One year ago today… the SNL50 Homecoming Concert at Radio City Music Hall
One of the most incredible nights of my life. Obviously a career highlight being part of such a talented crew, but also as a fan of music easily the greatest lineup I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Jack White, David Byrne, The Roots, Nirvana, Lauryn Hill, the B-52s, Bonnie Raitt… and those were just my highlights!
The night before the live show another operator got sick so I moved from our jib in the top balcony to a 50’ MovieBird in the center of the orchestra section with the @hammercameracranes team. I only had the dress rehearsal to get acclimated to the new position and gear! The show was thrilling, high pressure and live to the world. All of the things I love about my job! by @danbalton

Still feeling overwhelmed by all the joy and positivity that came out of this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show with Bad Bunny. The performance truly resonated with so many people, it was an absolute honor to be a part of it.

Thank you, as always, @hamishhamiltontv, @camwhitelaw, @lilhayley1, @thedpsanford, everyone at @funiculargoats, and the entire team who makes this show possible. It’s an incredible group to be part of!

Halftime show number 8 for me, number 19 for @cameramovesinc. Very grateful. And of course, thank you to the grass people. by @danbalton

Hours away from the Benito Bowl! An incredible (and warm) week in Santa Clara all leads up to this! #halftime by @danbalton

I’m late posting my 2025 year in review, but it was too exciting of a year not to share some of the highlights! Hope everyone is having a great start to 2026!
1 - Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Halftime Show - One of my favorite artists in one of my favorite cities! And of course, the shot seen ‘round the internet of @serenawilliams
2 - SNL50: The Homecoming Concert - Just a week after the Super Bowl, I got to shoot one of the most incredible nights of live music I’ve ever witnessed. A few moments from @ladygaga, Nirvana/Post Malone and @officialjackwhite
3 - 78th Tony Awards - My first time shooting handheld on a big award show, no pressure! I was mostly shooting nominees, but also was involved in some performances like this one from Dead Outlaw featuring the wonderful @juliaknitel and @mreddiecooper and a 180 degree whip pan to the stage that definitely had me sweating a little.
4 - The Met: Live in HD: La Bohème - Every opera I get to shoot at the Met is special, but this one really stood out for me. @juliana__grigoryan and @freddiedetommaso were so captivating, it was a privilege getting to capture the thrilling end of this duet. by @danbalton

4 days of setup and rehearsal all leads up to the big moment! Behind the scenes look at the midnight moment from 28 stories above the crowds in Times Square. Thanks to @andrewmvella for the second angle
