What an experience yesterday was. 29 miles on my 29th birthday but it really wasn’t for me. It was for my brother who passed at the age of 29. Every ounce of pain he felt throughout his life was nowhere near the pain I endured during/after this run. I’ve never ran more than 10 miles at one time. From being inches away from traffic, to the rolling hills & 4067 ft of elevation(3.1 Empire State Buildings), seeing my dawg Mike surprise me 7.5 miles into the run, stopping at Nicks fire station, dodging nut ass bike life boys on broad street inches away from hitting me, to then making it to the top of the Rocky Steps and taking it all in when the job was finished. What. An. Experience. I can’t thank those boys enough for the support. May is mental health awareness month. I could write a long post about what I had to do & overcome to get back to this moment after over 2 years of not being in there but fuck that. We put on one of the best fights of the night on one of the biggest cards in the region. I’ll be back & better. I’m grateful to do what only .01% of the population has ever done.
