From 2 to 6 January, ZONE D returns to the DAF studios.

🌍A privileged vantage point across the geographies of contemporary choreographic thought. A point of reference for artists and dancers seeking direct exposure to cultures, codes and sensibilities that do not necessarily converge.

✨ A new season begins for the DAF International Programme and for the activities of the departments dedicated to classical and academic training.

🌍 Over time, DAF has established a distinctive position within the European and international industry, as well as within the concrete processes of entering the profession. The network built with companies, artistic directors, theatres and choreographers has generated contracts and direct opportunities, reshaping the collective perception of the project and drawing growing international attention to its processes and the results it produces.

🎓 To join DAF today means becoming part of an educational institution already inscribed within this professional network, where an international perspective accompanies the evolution of each individual journey.

𝗗𝗔𝗙 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗
We’d like to share an update on our students’ career paths: A few weeks ago, 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮 began his stint with 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘵. 𝘎𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯, 𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘻𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥, 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘢𝘳, on his first internship contract. The international relationships and theater partnerships developed by the DAF over the years allow dancers in the Professional Project, during the final phase of the season, to be observed directly by directors and artistic directors. It’s an opportunity where interest in the work presented can lead to contracts being signed on the spot.
We hope this experience is just the first step on a long journey filled with work, discoveries, encounters, and paths yet to be explored...😍🍀

𝗗𝗔𝗙 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡
DAF has redefined in Italy the parameters of the dancer’s professional evolution, establishing a creative and pedagogical pole where technical precision, artistic research, choreographic production and theatrical experience operate as one integrated system. Each year, around 20 premieres and original choreographic creations are developed within DAF, transforming the program into a living laboratory of composition, interpretation and professional transformation.

DAF approaches the dancer’s body as a complex technical, sensitive and perceptive organism: a structure to be analyzed, reorganized and projected toward higher levels of scenic intelligence, authorial presence and adaptability.

A daily practice of high methodological density, where classical technique and international contemporary languages function as interdependent systems of physical, technical, perceptive and artistic development.
The architecture of ballet enters into dialogue with the dynamic, conceptual and authorial mobility of contemporary practices. Creations entrusted to guest artists become research devices, exposing dancers to different body grammars, compositional logics and modes of scenic presence.

𝗗𝗔𝗙 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧
One of the most advanced postgraduate programs internationally.
Structured around six new creations entrusted to six choreographers, DAF NEXT places young artists inside a process extremely close to professional life within theatres and companies.
Classical technique, contemporary languages, control, availability, authorial thinking and interpretative capacity coexist in the construction of an artist able to sustain the complexity of the contemporary stage.

The presentation of around twenty premières, created by twenty national and international artists, was received with an attention, concentration, and enthusiasm that were truly extraordinary, beyond anything we could have hoped for.

We close this edition as well with new and solid partnerships, placed at the service of our students’ future and of their artistic and professional growth.

💎Over 150 performers involved, six days of performance programming, and more than 60 hours of original content.

DAF Finale Season is the final gathering of a year in which the DAF studios have been crossed by choreographers and artists from every part of the world. A year in which every mechanism, every process, every creative passage has been built to balance, to inform, to recalibrate differences, and to bring an important and unique result into each of these young artists.

This presentation reflects the intensity of a process marked by intricate research, phases of linguistic hybridization, and emerging practices of authorship. It is the result of a path in which different bodies, visions, cultures, and artistic languages have entered into dialogue, creating a field of continuous transformation.

Every year, this final season surprises us. In some way, it astonishes us for the beauty and depth of what has taken place. It reminds us that what happens inside a studio is never only a technical or performative process, but a profound transformation that involves everyone. The young artists change, but we also change with them. Every year, in different ways, we adapt our lives to their needs, to their urgencies, to their fragility, to their strength, and to the responsibility we feel towards the future generations who are trying to find their own place in the world.

This stage will not simply return a performance. It will bring back many personal stories. The stories of many young people who have concretely decided to fight for something, to remain inside a process, to cross fatigue, uncertainty, exposure, and desire, in order to transform all of this into presence, language, and artistic identity.✨🌏 taken in Teatro Vascello by @danceartsfaculty
