A month ago, I said goodbye to my Bear Bun AKA Stroop Waffle AKA Stripey Doo.

Yesterday he would’ve been 10. It’s actually Chai’s birthday, but since I adopted Bear when he was an adult, I made them twins. 😂

The day after my birthday, Bear suddenly went into heart failure. I am forever grateful that I was home, because heart failure is a horrific death.

After a hard month trying to stabilize him on meds (and a near death car crash in the middle), we finally got 9 beautiful days together… but then he went into active failure again. The vet and I knew it was time.

Mr. Bear was a big boy NYC street cat. He was also a gentle derpy soul. He slept every night curled at my waist like a cinnamon roll. He trilled and answered back to everything. He loved being a wannabe “bad boy,” getting caught doing something he wasn’t supposed to, like eating a plant, jumping on top of the fridge, etc. I would give my shocked gasp and he’d run to me with excitement. 😆 He dreamed of eating birds on our patio.

The month and day I said goodbye to Bear was so hard but man I got good people in my life.

My ride or die @tingteal was my rock all month, taking panic attack calls, sending me the dorkiest Bear pillow that I adore.

I thought I could say goodbye alone, and I’m forever grateful that my dear friend @audravanhees didn’t let me. She wrapped us both in her deep love and it’s a gift that I will never forget.

My amazing neighbors, @cryssalz and Stephen came over to pour their love into us both. My dear friend @lilyliuliu insisted on coming over, despite it being her birthday, with dinner, gifts for Chai and her unending friendship.

My OG bestie @thekickwriter and my NYC besties @michellestanek and @9191gq checked in on me with much needed FaceTimes. @1charityb @ardwilliams Jess and @boobookitty_cle were there checking in. That doesn’t even get to my incredible sets of parents and extended family, who gave me so much love and support. They’re not social media people, but they know how much they mean to me.

How lucky I am to be loved by incredible people and Bear. He has returned to stardust, and someday I’ll join him. by @danceasaur

NEW SONG + FILM, I’d love to hear your thoughts below! 👇🏻

The story: I wrote this song about my kids, and the fear of the clock ticking by. Knowing they’re getting older every day, and though it may not seem like it, life’s slipping away, and one day, at some point in the future, I’ll lose them to the world.

Perhaps I wrote it to remind myself to make the most of the time… because as slow as time sometimes seems to go, the years soon disappear through your fingers like grains of sand.

My only hope for this song is that it might inspire some of you to take that extra moment for someone important in your life today. Doesn’t matter if you live with them, or they’re on the other side of the world. Make that call. Send that message. Listen to what they have to say. Give your pet a cuddle. Tell them you love them. Because life is fucking short.

Enough shit from me. This is “Love You For All Time” featuring an insanely good vocal by @annabel.official and I hope you like it.

I’ve met a lot of amazing dogs volunteering @wagsandwalks but I’m obsessed with Boko. As much as I love him, every week I hope he’s gone because this 10/10 #goodboi deserves a foster or pawrents. I can’t be his person but want to help him find them!

He’s super sweet with every person (and child) we’ve met on walks and hiking (he likes to lick 😆). Sits like a gentleman on car rides. Almost never borks. Gently takes treats. But also has a lot of energy and excitement about playing. Like any young doggo, he needs someone who will enjoy training him to become an adult doggo.

Are you his person? Tag someone who is or go to Wags & Walks to apply and meet him. Or meet one of the other amazing dogs there, from purse-size to horse-size, low-energy to working-dog, they’ve got them all!
