This was a dream project. Like all good projects, it started as a joke... which became a “what if”, and then became a reality. I got to take some of my favorite mall memories and distill them into one space! Thanks to @rosszietz for helping me make it and keep it classy. Paul Byk (who isn’t on IG) produced the whole thing, and @_chrissandlin designed the big neon sign inside. Also mad kudos to @xdagency for taking my digital mockups and making them real! This has been kicking around in my head for a while as a way to showcase some awesome mailchimp customers, and I’m just so stoked for folks to see it. I also got to work with @smilebooth to create a custom “portrait studio” style photobooth, so come get your picture taken tonight (nov 21) from 5-9pm at our grand opening! It was a really good run, but after 10 years my time at Mailchimp has come to a close. Intuit, the company that bought us, did a big layoff last week (3000+ employees!) and they finally sank my battleship. I’ll do a proper photo retrospective on here I’m sure, but for now I just wanna say I’m full of gratitude for the people and projects that made the place an absolute dream. Intuit took the Mailchimp sign off the door of our office a while ago and the day they did, I made this to express my feelings about it. They can take Freddie off the door of the office, but anybody who worked there during the golden years knows Freddie’s always in our hearts. HAIL FVC IV!

Last week was a dream—thanks to each and every one of you who came out to our shows. Overwhelmed and touched by the support we have felt at these first few gigs. We had the best time playing and meeting you all! Major thanks to the crews at @masquerade_atl and @wigwagfest for being top notch. Dream pop / indie rock band Silk Daisys join the show! This Atlanta-based duo stops by to discuss their stunning debut LP. Drawing from late ’80s–early ’90s jangle and dream-pop touchstones like The Sundays, The Primitives, Darling Buds, Lush, and The Cure, Silk Daisys deliver a sound that perfectly scratches that nostalgic itch! The album has already generated serious buzz, landing on multiple Album of the Year lists.

Led by husband-and-wife duo @dancebuffet and @mintkarla, Silk Daisys blend creativity from all angles — he’s a designer, she’s a photographer and filmmaker, and together they’re raising two wildly talented daughters. Their oldest has already appeared in Stranger Things, Percy Jackson, and The Haunting of Hill House, while their youngest is already showing an incredible ear for songwriting and pop melodies. We talk about influences, creativity, family, and why they believe their kids may one day outshine them all.
