WORLD PREMIERE at Gloucestershire Dance Day 2026! We are thrilled to announce that Gloucestershire Dance Day is hosting the world premiere of 'ENTWINED', a poetic new film by Marie-Louise Flexen. Inspired by a true story, ENTWINED follows a child and a woman bound by waiting and longing, and the magnetic pull that finally draws them together. Come and see it on the big screen in the truly beautiful cinema at Gloucester Guildhall. First screening: 13:10 Second screening with subtitles: 14:40 Don't miss this opportunity! ENTWINED: Inspired by a true story, ‘ENTWINED’ is a poetic journey of a child and a woman bound by waiting and longing. A quiet room, just for you. Tucked away in the George Hunt Room, we've created a calm, sensory space for anyone who needs a moment away from the buzz of the day. No pressure, no performance, just a place to breathe. Playing silently on loop throughout Gloucestershire Dance Day: Bodyscape Dance presents: 'Dawn, Afternoon, Evening, Night' A peaceful film of movement in nature. Shot along the River Severn and through Hawkwood Woods, Coaly Peak and Swifts Hill, it follows the changing light of the day through four gentle chapters, with music composed by Bartholomew Mason. Come and go as you please. Sit, rest, watch a little or watch it all. This space is here for anyone who needs some quiet. Your Next Move / YNM Collective bring NEXXT MOVE to Gloucestershire Dance Day 2026! Young dancers from across Gloucester take us on a journey through Hip Hop, from social dances and grooves to intricate popping and explosive breaking. YNM are all about inspiring the next generation of Hip Hop artists, and this piece is a chance to see exactly what that looks like. NEXXT MOVE brings together the creative work of young dancers who take part in YNM's classes at Gloucester Guildhall, Quedgeley Community Centre and Parry Hall in Tredworth. The dancers have been developing a collective piece, weaving together the different styles and routines they have been learning alongside their own choreography, curated with the support of Your Next Move's dance artists and practitioners. Last year these young dancers were part of a cypher style performance. This time they take on a whole piece as a collective, showing off their different skills and collaborations. It's a real step up, and it belongs to them. A huge thank you to Together Gloucester for funding Gloucestershire Dance Day 2026, and to Gloucester Guildhall for providing the whole building, the tech and the staffing to make the day happen. Jismy Judathadevus presents Nach Le Bollywood Dance at Gloucestershire Dance Day 2026, with their piece called Nach Le: Stories We Carry. This is a fusion performance of Bollywood, semi-classical and South Asian folk styles. It celebrates how dance lets us rediscover and reconnect with our roots, while also expressing who we are today. Nach Le is all about energising, fun-filled dance rooted right here in Gloucester, moving to the joyful beats of Bollywood and South Indian music and celebrating life through dance. Their space is a welcoming one for everyone, seasoned dancer or complete beginner alike, and that warmth carries straight onto the stage. Expect colour, expect rhythm, expect a lot of joy. This is the one. After months of work, the call-out for Step by Step: Tracing Gloucester's Dancing Past is open! We are building an exhibition of Gloucester's dance history, and we want your story in it. Think of a night you got dressed up for. A wedding. A carnival. A Guildhall Friday night. A school hall party. A performance you were in, or watched from the side of the room. We want the one night, not the twelve years. What was playing? What you wore? Your favourite move? What it felt like when you finally got out on that floor? 2 things only: It has to have happened in Gloucester. And it can be from any point in the past, last year or seventy years ago. Here is the exciting bit... Selected stories will be shown at Llanthony Secunda Priory on Sunday 25 October, as part of Step by Step: Tracing Gloucester’s Dancing Past. They might appear as photographs, as written words on a wall, as video or audio you can sit and listen to, or even as live dance, with your memory retold and interpreted through movement in the room. Your night, back on its feet. And every single story sent in, chosen or not, goes into the Gloucester Archives. Kept. Part of this city's permanent record. Send it however suits you. Apt Dance Company brings Cloudburst to Gloucestershire Dance Day 2026! Apt Dance Company are an inclusive dance company who work co-creatively to devise honest and immersive art to share with all. Everyone in the room shapes the work, and that shows in everything they make. For Gloucestershire Dance Day they are performing three duets! Together they embody the complexity, unpredictability and ever shifting forms of clouds. It's a metaphor for life as light and dark, calm and storm, and it explores our relationship with clouds, their impact on our mood, and the playful and meditative qualities they bring out in us. We can't wait for you to see these gorgeous duets.
