To celebrate our second birthday, we are venturing south for a party to tell your grandkids about. 🫨🩻

It will take place in a club regularly graced by some of the world’s most talented DJs, and the precise location of this chic, intimate and wonderful-sounding venue will be revealed to ticket holders shortly before the party. 🤫🌋

Our residents will be soundtracking the night from 11pm until 5am, taking listeners on a cosmic journey of tension and release, intensity and euphoria, pressure and malarkey. 🌚🌝

We invite friends old and new join us for this special one-off night in the capital. Very limited capacity on this one - tickets on RA now. 🌀🌀

Mariiin’s sets shape immersive atmospheres, balancing light and darkness to draw the room into slow hypnosis.

For Mariiin’s Menu, she plates three records that map her sound in motion — acid bite, nocturnal bloom, and beautiful collapse.

First course: Desiree Falessi — Acid Essence.
Warehouse pressure with a pulse. Acid lines that lock the room into a single breath.
Tested at Houghton. Reaction was instant. Groovy, sharp, no escape.

Second course: Agostino Casillo — Midnight Bloom.
Late-night magic pressed to wax.
Warm bass rolling under drifting synths — that moment when the floor loosens its grip and the night exhales.

Final course: Molen — Ways to Die.
Beautiful tension, stretched thin.

Was an absolute pleasure to be back in @the_berkeley_suite booth last week for the last hour after @bakey_____

Speki C and Cackett took us back to the early Dance No Evil days with a hefty dose of some seriously large UKG, Bass and Dubstep.

Big thanks to @23degrees_events for the call-up and big ups all the troops that held it down til 4 on a school night 👊

Joining us next month is the incredible Mariiin. Originally from Italy and now based in London, Mariiin is a DJ and producer who has firmly carved out her space within the UK underground. Known for crafting deeply immersive, hypnotic journeys, her sets move fluidly between light and dark — drawing dancers into atmospheres that feel both intimate and expansive ✨🛸
Rooted in the foundations laid by electronic music’s early pioneers, Mariiin’s sound is forward-facing yet timeless. She navigates a wide spectrum of styles with precision and restraint, balancing raw intensity with subtle nuance. Her selections unfold patiently, pulling you further into the groove until the outside world quietly disappears 🔊💿
As a producer, her original work reflects an evolving and distinctive sound — textured, emotive and quietly powerful. Each release adds another chapter to a sound that values depth, tension and feeling over excess 🎚️🌀

🌺👹 DANCE NO EVIL 006: @mariiin_c 👹🌺

The primates of DNE have been on a journey to faraway lands in search of an artist who can shake bones and melt brains…😵‍💫🩻

They have returned with tale of one who goes by the name Mariiin a DJ and Producer forged in the storied south of Italy, but whose skill and reputation has taken her across the seven continents 🌋🌃

She performs regularly at some of the world’s most revered parties, from @houghtonfestival to @cartulismusic parties, and holds residencies with @fabriclondonofficial and @pleasure.club , leaving dancefloors in bits wherever she goes…

Mariiin’s sets expertly balance the powers of light and darkness, taking listeners on hypnotic journeys from hellish depths ecstatic peaks 🌚🌝

It’s been a sublime semester for Dance No Evil!

From bringing Josi Devil to Glasgow for a rager back in September, to hosting the amazing Tekhole b2b SOFSOF in November, to making debuts on Radio Buena Vida and Brixton Radio, to closing the bloody Sub Club at Halloween, we’ve been getting darker and redder than ever before…👹

We also got to play at the lovely Bananamoon, La Cheetah and Buff Club, and even had an away day to Canvas (and Clarke’s Bakery) in Dundee 🥧🌭

So we’d like to take a moment to say thank you so much to all the venues that let us use their space for our malarkey, the promoters that invited us to play, and most importantly all the dancers that came to see us or tuned into our radio shows! 🥰

Artist Spotlight: 🔊SOFSOF 🔊

Completing our ballistic b2b at 1990 on Thursday is the electrifying @sofsof_gla !!!

Previously known as VAJ.Power, SOFSOF is a DJ, promoter and 3D artist who is undeniably one of the most important people in Glasgow’s grassroots clubbing scene. Through running their own parties FUSE and CL!CK, as well a key involvement in many other queer events, SOFSOF is a champion of creating fun, welcoming and safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community and giving many emerging artists opportunities in an often male-dominated space.🫶🏻🤝🍭

Also a fierce and wicked DJ, their sound moves fluidly through UK funky, dubstep, club, jungle, footwork and booty bass, binding together global club mutations with high-octane percussion and body-rattling low-end that demands full dancefloor surrender 💥🧬🩸

Their fearless approach to genre and tempo has earned them slots at some of the most exciting club nights and festivals across the UK, including Keep Hush Scotland, Project 6, Riverside Festival and Kelburn Garden Party — where they co-curated an all-trans stage in 2023 as part of the Excuse My Beauty collective, amplifying a new era of community-first rave culture 🌈🪩⚔️

SOFSOF has also supported a deadly roster of boundary-pushing artists, from Juliana Huxtable, LCY and Nikki Nair to Bluetoof, Animistic Beliefs, Interplanetary Criminal, Samurai Breaks, Gracie T and more ☄️🛸

On a more personal level, Sof was the only booker in Glasgow that was willing to give Dance No Evil a chance when we first started out last year, and so our own little party owes a huge debt to them too - it’s therefore a special sort of full-circle moment for us to have them play at one of our nights❤️❤️❤️

We can’t wait to witness their boss club energy as they go b2b with Tekhole next week for Dance No Evil. Limbs will reorganise. Basslines will chew through the floor. And you will ascend 😵‍💫🐍🎚️

Artist Spotlight: 🦎 @tekhole 🦎

Joining us at 1990 on the 20th is the incredible Tekhole. Hailing from South Africa and now based between Glasgow and Berlin, Tekhole is one of the most exciting DJs emerging from the underground club music scene. Their sets are undeniably genre-fluid, spanning from techno and electro to Gqom, bass and breaks. The common denominator of Tekhole’s tracks is their high energy, deadly percussion, and noggin-spinning basslines that will have you cutting shapes that you didn’t know existed💃🦖🦥

Tekhole’s unique style has seen them booked for parties all over the globe, from New York’s Mood Ring, to Berlin’s Panke, to The White Hotel in Manchester, decimating dancefloors in their wake 💣🫨

As well as this, they have supported some of the world’s top DJs, from Sherelle and Martyn Bootyspoon, to Sama’ Abdulhadi and Neffa-T. This diverse cohort of DJs spans a range of genres, in keeping with Tekhole’s boundaryless disposition 🍭🪐🪩

In Glasgow, they hold residencies on forward-facing community radio stations Radio Buena Vida and Clyde Built Radio, using the airwaves as an introspective portal in which to explore feelings of home, sonic kinship and collective consciousness 🍄🤝🌍
