34. Retired. Rusty.

As teachers, we can’t expect students to trust the process if we never experience it ourselves. Going back to basics, learning new pathways, making mistakes, and finding solutions reminds me what learning actually feels like.

Am I moving like I did in my 20s? Absolutely not. And to be fair… my 20s were pretty special. 😅

But what I’ve gained since then is perspective. Every challenge gives me another way to explain a correction, another cue that clicks, and another way to help my students connect with what they’re learning.

Every time I learn something new, I gain another way to teach it.

Never stop being a student. ✨ by @dancewithsam_

Thank you so much to all of the incredible dancers who joined us at yesterday’s workshop!

These school holiday workshops have become such a special part of teaching, bringing together dancers from so many different studios to celebrate one shared love of dance and a passion for performing. Watching everyone learn, connect and support each other is what it’s all about.

A huge thank you to our special guest, Jayde Westaby for giving up her time and sharing her knowledge and experience with our dancers. We are so grateful to have you!

We’ll see you all again in the September school holidays for another amazing day of dancing. 🕺✨ taken in NAPA Gold Coast by @dancewithsam_

So proud of Ange and ALL of my students who has shown up week after week for her privates this year with so much consistency, determination and drive.

Watching their growth has been so rewarding and it really is proof that progress comes from simply continuing to show up. Hard work and consistency always pay off ✨
