Crazy to think that last June, less than a year ago I walked into @dancing.likeastar not knowing what a rumba walk was but I knew that I wanted THIS, all of it and at the highest level.

I was determined from day 1 but it seems like the longer am on this journey, the more determined I become, the more certain I become that this is what I want.
It hasn’t even been a year since I started dancing and it’s been one heck of year.

Training with talents like @annakova_lova @herrschiekisses and @andrenatalieparamonov
interviews with @sen1media winning competitions, doing a collab with Derek Hough x @fuego.dance ,switching from Bronze to Silver and so much more.

And here I am, 8 weeks into silver about to compete for the very first time at the prestigious @emeraldballdancesport
But the best part of it all, this is just the beginning because I am here to stay and excited for everything that’s ahead.

But I am also here to show that the IMPOSSIBLE IS POSSIBLE , no matter your background/age and to tell you all about this beautiful world called BALLROOM

What an incredible journey for Nina @dancing_with_nina_ at USDC 2026! ❤️🏆

A year ago, Nina was just starting her dance journey with a big goal in mind. With Slava’s guidance, a clear plan, and countless hours of practice, she turned that goal into reality!

From her very first competition at Hawaii Star Ball to winning the championship at USDC, every step was part of something special.

Nina’s story is a great reminder that with hard work, dedication, and the right teacher, anything is possible.

Im 42 and this is not where I thought I’d be!!

I’m someone who always follows a plan and only one year ago, at the age of 41 I thought I had it all figured out, I followed my plan and achieved my goals.

Married to my best friend, two beautiful children, bought my dream home and had my own law practice.

Then faith decided to play a joke on me and flip everything upside down.

Something decided for me that I had to put divorce law aside and start taking ballroom dance lessons.

So here I am, one year later, still married to my best friend raising our beautiful children, I left divorce law and trying to figure out where to go next, I became U.S. National Champion and World Champion in ballroom dancing in my division, two weeks ago I sold my dream home and now I’m moving into the unknown, literally.

Just when you thought you had it all figured out, universe throws you into the deep end and all you can do is trust that what is happening will lead you exactly to where you are supposed to be.

Let this be a reminder to all: DON’T listen to anyone who doesn’t believe in you, who laughs at you and who tells you you can’t do it! Yes you can and yes you will! Focus on what you want, work for it and ignore the noise!!

I hope this video finds the person who needs to hear it the most. The person who has been walking around with this same feeling but too sacred to try.

If this is you, please listen to my story. My life had nothing to do with dance and I mean absolutely nothing. Until one night, on video changed something in me and I wanted to, no I NEEDED to dance.

And although crazy and none of it made sense (you are an attorney, you belong in the courtroom), I listened to whatever was pushing me in this direction.

My entire life changed in just one year in the most insane way possible and it’s still changing and I’m sharing it all.

I’m not asking you to follow me, I’m not asking you to follow my journey. All I’m asking is for you to listen to that voice and take the first step. And maybe reach back out to me a year from now❤️

Sometimes what feels like everything falling apart is everything falling into place. When the signs align, trust the timing. One door closes because another is already waiting to open.

What leaves your life isn’t always a loss. Sometimes it’s life making room for what was meant to find you.
When everything suddenly starts aligning, you realize the closed doors were never the ending — they were redirection.

Maybe it didn’t happen when you wanted because it was waiting to happen when you were ready. Trust the timing.
Some doors close so firmly that you have no choice but to walk toward the one that was meant for you all along.

Not every ending is a loss. Some endings are the universe clearing the way for your next beginning.
