Ended up quite a bit darker than the WIP, but also interesting - something else. Been missing my phone to make a photo and share this one, the quick replacement had a bad camera (also was just off Insta for a while) ... but here we go! Feel good to have my actual phone back. Will share some more again from now on =)

I'll be drawing/painting a portrait cover of each guest. This is Max @buskohl from the first episode

The language of the podcast is German - for the German speaking/learning among you who want to give the first episode a listen I'll share the link in stories :)

Special night spent around a fireplace/cave on a mountain next to Athens with some new Greek friends. At some point the vibe made us take this video, dancing around the fireplace. Video taken by @markosbu

First Solo Performance!

Last Friday (19th July) I had my first solo fire performance in Monbijoupark, Berlin

Everything was quite improvised to the point that I was putting together the playlist right before the show. I was using the contact staff that you can see in this video and the freshly - on this day - bought fire palms

The palms I had only used once, two years ago, but since they are so intuitive they worked. This is around 4 weeks into learning contact staff

I started the performance with this song, Solomon by @kalaha_moon

Huge thanks to @jeffi_lou u and @morganremaj.music maj.music for letting me use their speaker, as well as the amazing @williamschmidtjrphoto (who we lovingly call Busker Paparezzo) for taking the video 🎥

Fire Jam in Yaam on the 21st July 2022

Thank you for this beautiful experience! Lots of wonderful people coming together in order to practice with each other & show some great fire action. The first time we came around a month ago we already got surprised by how open and welcoming people are. Stay that way & let's do some more fire in the future!

This is Alina @vogel_milch, the first of the @streetperformersberlin / Buskers of Berlin series

We first met this year back in February. Coincidences drove me to Berlin, coincidences drove me to that place at that time.

We met during the first protests against the war in Ukraine. I was there with two friends and we listened in on a speech. Because it was so cold the other two wanted to go home after a bit. I walked past Alina, admired her beautiful music and threw in some coin while passing. That could have been it...

But after 50 meters I told my friend that I would go back and listen for a bit. I went back and listened, standing in the cold of winter, freezing. But I didn't feel all that cold - her music was so wonderful and kept me warm inside. Just focusing on the music the cold didn't really matter. I felt so connected with this music and being that I wanted to dance. My body was quite exhausted, it would have been easy to take that as an excuse to not dance. I then just tried to get closer to my center & myself, get into a state where my exhaustion and the cold wouldn't matter. When she sang the same song again - one whose lyrics I only half understand as it's only partly English - I closed my eyes and started to move. The song with the lyrics "I'm a soldier" - I not only danced to it, I played the role of a soldier. One that is desperate, who doesn't want to face all of this pain anymore. Who wants the pain and suffering of war to end.

This was the first time we met and also the first time I openly danced to street music. She was so happy and appreciated that I found something in her music and danced - as apparently not many people do. She shared tea with me, which I happily took, still shivering both from the cold but also the strain on my body which had already been exhausted before.

This war the first time that we met, that we randomly stumbled into each other - it would not be the last!

I'm at the limit, story continued in comments & the future
