📌 The pork wonton soup kits 海味抄手are ready to order online or at our stall @unionmarketdc . This is a good product to include in your frozen pantry now, given the endless cold days we have. Pork wontons are made fresh daily, and the broth was cooked for hours with pork bones and a whole chicken. You could also add veggie as you wish so it is a whole hearty meal. We already have customers ordering them on a daily basis because it is that good!

📌We use a lot of Chinese spices in our cooking. When we refill and label the spice we use, people are always so curious about the shape and the aroma. Some of the spices , they only read it online, now people get to see it in person.

📌Mapo Tofu 麻婆豆腐 is an all time classic dish which was originated from my hometown Chengdu, Sichuan. The first Mapo Tofu house was built in Chengdu, 5 bus stops from my house. “ Mapo “ actually translates to Ms.Ma, a wordplay of the owner’s wife’s freckles on her face and the tingly taste from the tofu. Yes…, it shares the same Chinese character 麻. There are different versions of the dish now but I still like the taste that was in my memories. The famous Sichuan Doubanjiang ( the fermented red chili bean paste ) makes the dish look so red and spicy but it is actually only slightly spicy. Mixing with a right amount of spice and Sichuan peppercorns, the bland tofu is transformed to another world. Tofu has a good texture to support that kind of sauce. Whenever people told me that they don’t like tofu, I always tell them to try some Mapo Tofu, they might change their mind after and most of them actually did. And WOW! One customer shared her Google photo view of this dish with us, and this dish alone has 20k views.

📌 The Charred Chili BBQ Sauce （烧椒酱）is the new addition to our chili oil collection. It uses the fresh green chili called Erjingtiao ( 二荆条 ) from Sichuan province. This sauce is trendy now back home. The flavor has layers with a strong hint of Sichuan peppercorns, however it is not overwhelmingly spicy. The Sichuan peppercorn’s tingle is occasional if the scoop you have happens to carry a peppercorn. Good on rice, tacos, noodle , scrambled eggs or just eat by itself.

📌People are always curious about how we serve a mao hot pot dish （冒菜）in a bowl to go. In Sichuan, there are different types of Hot Pot. It is essentially a variety of Asian veggies and meat cooked in a Sichuan chili sauce and tingly peppercorn broth. As a person who grow up eating these, I gotta say - Hot Pot is a self served session for a group of friends sitting together and enjoy the meal over chatting; Mao hot pot is a hot pot session for a single person ”火锅是一群人的冒菜，冒菜是一个人的火锅 “. When you are craving the food but don’t have the time to sit around, at home, the places usually cook this Mao hot pot dish for you to go. I can eat this dish everyday, especially when I am veggie deficient. If you like Sichuan tingly peppercorns, you will love this dish. I like to add a bowl of rice on the side when I need to clean my palette.
