My super-slow fastest lap of the day from this weekend's NASA AZ Super Touring race at Firebird West. I really took the summer off and failed to prepare the car better. Honestly I was surprised that the car was even drivable enough to complete laps as good as it did 😆 Either way, I stayed in the game and ended up getting third out of 5 in ST4. Not bad!

Played my first “real” game of ice hockey yesterday with @volta.labs and @comptonasskerry09 but not @tyhcl9 for reasons unknown. Technically it’s “Flow” hockey which 2 minutes on and 2 minutes off. It was super fun, super tiring, and super cool. Plus I shot a nasty goal so it was even more fun. Hockey is pretty cool taken in Mullett Arena by @danger_technical

Sometimes things just don’t work out like you think they will. About two years ago I bought a 2007 Ford F250. One owner, full stack of maintenance records, and a fresh (ish) repaint that cost almost as much as I paid for the whole thing. Shows how much the rest of it was worth 😩 it never actually broke down and left me up the creek but it really drove like shit and had a ton of little issues. I guess that’s just big old domestic trucks for you. I’m spoiled by my legendary Toyota reliability lol. So to rid myself of the distaste I traded it in for a 2022 Toyota Tundra from my employer, Carvana. Turns out buying the cheapest Tundra (spec’d the way I wanted) wasn’t the move either. It had a few issues of its own as well. So…I decided to stick with the little devil I know and to have a little fun with it. I’m keeping my old reliable 2007 4Runner (much to the unsurprise to anyone who knows anything about cars) and, lord forgive me, I got another car from 2007. Picked up a 2007 Porsche Cayman Base. 2.7 liters, ~240 hrsepwers, 5 speed manual, 93k miles, 0 options, and a bunch of little issues. But it’s a fun little driver and I’m happy to be back in a fun daily. The full garage is now 4Runner, Cayman, and 350Z race car. 20’ enclosed trailer for sale soon. by @danger_technical

I love my mom and I love the Phoenix Art Museum. So of course, for her birthday, we took a visit! Started with some eats at LeDu Thai, admired some art for a while, and topped it off with some more snacks at Alden, the restaurant at the museum. Happy birthday, mom! You’re the best by @danger_technical

Japan pt. Fin: Kanazawa. Rounding off this beautiful trip was the city of Kanazawa. Home to stuff and things, we saw a lot of it. Castles, temples, markets, gold flakeries, old Geisha hangouts, and a few drinks to round it off. All in all, another banger taken in Kanazawa, Ishikawa by @danger_technical

Japan pt.3: Matsumoto, Nagano. Spending time outside of Tokyo was my favorite part of this trip. The city has it all but, to my uninformed self, it had too much. Heading west out of the city about an hour and a half brings you to the valley town of Matsumoto in Nagano Prefecture. They had their own bustling city center but a 15 minute taxi ride showcased a fantastic mountainside part of the city with the coolest hotel I’ve ever been to, Matsumoto Jūjō. I highly recommend seeking it out. We had a fantastic 8 course locally sourced dinner, time in their in-house library, and genuine hot spring tubs in each room. We also saw a castle and got Ramen from a hilarious dude who was trying to pick up everyone’s wives. What a kidder taken in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan by @danger_technical
