You can love your family and still feel unsure how to lead them well. You can carry a lot of responsibility and realize you need help carrying it.

That’s why we created Brought to Bear.

Our next cohorts begin November 2 and 4. Join Noel Fenderson and Daniel Grose of Honest Fatherhood for a 12-week experience focused on identity in Christ, purpose, discipline, marriage, fatherhood, and leadership.

We’ll work through practical ways to lead yourself, love your wife, and build a family culture with intention—with teaching, coaching, accountability, and brothers walking alongside you.

Choose your weekly live call:
• Mondays at 11 AM Central — starts November 2
• Mondays at 1 PM Central — starts November 2
• Wednesdays at noon Central — starts November 4
• Wednesdays at 7 PM Central — starts November 4

Includes 12 teaching modules, 12 live coaching calls, weekly assignments, small-group accountability, lifetime access to the content and recordings, and Foundations of Fatherhood course.

Early-bird registration is $1,500 before increasing to $1,800. Space is limited.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. Come willing to be honest, learn, and do the work.

What does a typical week in Brought to Bear look like?

Each week, you’ll have videos to watch and homework to work through before we meet. These give you time to think honestly about your life, recognize where you need to grow, and come ready for a meaningful conversation.

Then we get together for coaching, discussion, and accountability with Daniel, me, and a small group of men doing the work alongside you.

The goal is to put what you’re learning into practice—in your faith, your marriage, your fatherhood, and the way you lead at home.

Over 12 weeks, those weekly commitments create opportunities for real growth. You don’t have to come with everything figured out. Come willing to be honest, show up, and follow through.

Most of us know the right thing to do. The harder question is whether we’ll do it when it costs us something. A customer might walk away. A friend might get uncomfortable. Someone whose approval we want might think differently of us.

When the apostles were ordered to stop teaching about Jesus, Peter answered, “We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29). God had already told them what to do, and the council’s threats didn’t change that.

That’s the conviction behind “Obey God. Defy Tyrants.” And for most of us, living it out starts with something much closer to home: being honest when it could cost us business, talking about our faith when we’d rather fit in, or taking responsibility when we know the conversation will be hard.

Men, where have you let someone else’s approval carry more weight than God’s Word? Bring that to Him. If you’ve compromised, repent and return. His grace gives us reason to get up and keep following.

The War Within Tee is back in stock, and we added a new color: Heather Heavy Metal.
We made this shirt because the struggle Paul describes in Romans 7–8 is one we know well. We want to follow Jesus, and we still feel the pull of the flesh. It’s a fight worth taking seriously, and one we don’t have to fight in our own strength.
If you missed your size in one of the original colors, they’ve been restocked too. Find yours at dangerousbutgood.com.

Before the week gets loud, take a minute to put your heart before the Lord.

Ask Him for the courage to stand firm, the wisdom to know what needs your attention, and the strength to do what’s right when it costs you something.

Then remember the last part of this passage: “Let all that you do be done in love.”

That includes how you answer your wife, how you handle frustration with your kids, and how you treat the person making your job harder today.

You may already feel behind this morning. God’s grace meets you there, too. Bring Him what you’re carrying and take the next faithful step.

Be watchful. Stand firm. Be strong. Let love guide how you use that strength.

Stay dangerous. Stay good.

Grace isn’t soft.
It’s fierce.

It’s radical. Offensive to pride.
So powerful that most men struggle to believe it’s actually true.

We’re wired for performance.
Earn it. Prove it. Deserve it.

But grace doesn’t play by those rules.

It can’t be tamed.
It can’t be managed.
And it sure can’t be earned.

Grace is the holy, unrelenting love of God meeting you in your failure and saying,
“You’re mine.”

Not because you fought hard enough.
Not because you cleaned yourself up.
Not because you finally got it right.

But because Jesus already did.

That kind of grace doesn’t make weak men.
It makes dangerous ones —
Men who don’t fight for approval,
but from it.

Stay dangerous.
Stay good.

A lot of coffee, and a little reading. "Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them."

John 12:35-36

Men, if we say faith matters in our home, our families need opportunities to see us live it.

Let them hear us pray. Let them see us open our Bibles. Let them watch us ask God for wisdom, admit when we’re wrong, and seek forgiveness.

And if that hasn’t been happening in your home, you don’t have to hide in shame or pretend you’ve had it together.

You can begin today.

You don’t need an impressive prayer or a perfect answer to every question. Read a few verses together. Ask what they mean. Pray about something your family is facing.

You can even say, “I haven’t led us well in this, but I want to start. Let’s learn together.”

God’s grace meets us where we are and helps us take the next faithful step.

Our families learn what we value through the way we live. Give them a picture of a man who needs Jesus—and keeps turning to Him. by @dangerousbutgood
