Always had deep love for @courtnieramirez from day 1. Been doing ministry with she and @3dgaraguilar for years now, and watching their callings unfold has legit been one of my favorite perspectives of this decade. Any thoughts on Baby Hicks being a boy or girl??? 🩷💙 First trimester was far more difficult this time - over 14 weeks in now and I’m still pretty sick in late afternoon + evenings but so much better during the day, very thankful for that 🙏🏽 Everyone keeps telling me that since I was a lot sicker this round it must be a boy. I hear others say the opposite. What you think?? by @dani.hicks

I turned 41 today.

Not a bit of angst about getting deeper into this decade. Don’t even try me with that. I’m unspeakably thankful.

I get to build the Church with consulting clients I love.
I get to continue growing Voice Co.
I get to walk out the vision of motherhood God has spoken to me.
I get to invest in @elevationriverwalk with the cutie hubby.

Nope. Life is def not always polished & perfect, but I live in alignment. And that’s changed everything.

I fully expect my 40s to be the most fruitful decade of my life. You won’t convince me otherwise.

I’m about to steward the heck out of these years. Grateful beyond words for the incredible humans who fill my life and business. 🩷🩷🩷 by @dani.hicks

Happy Twenty Years @elevationchurch!!!!! Thirteen years ago, God prompted me to leave my career and come help build the church in CLT. And for every season, context, and title, I’m inexplicably grateful. This also happens to be the place where I randomly met a cute bald boy volunteering on the VIP team at uptown… And where we later each went through the ‘prodigy program’ (IYKYK). This is the church that built my grit. Called things out of me that I’d buried. Challenged my bravery. I will forever give honor to my pastors for all that I’ve learned here. I’m intent on stewarding it. All invaluable. PSF is an everyday masterclass in countless ways but I think the season etched in my heart forever was learning from him as we navigated the uncertainty of the pandemic. I’m adding my notes from a meeting in 2020 that I’ve had pinned at the very top of my apple notes for 6 years. A CP meeting where he called us to recalibrate and pioneer when the world was reeling and so much was unknown. It still spurs me on in courage and reminds me of the importance of resolute action in the unpredictable. Grateful for Ps @stevenfurtick & @hollyfurtick and the infinite cost they endure to lead with strength in so many eras. Here’s to all that’s ahead 🥂 by @dani.hicks

Waiting for you has been both pain and privilege 🤍

Months ago, Jordan and I finally brought Lennie in to the fact that we were believing God for a baby. We’d been wanting to guard her from disappointment, but then I felt a pretty clear challenge from God: “If you protect her from being disappointed, you also rob her of the chance to pray and see it happen.”

So we took a risk. And almost every day, she started putting her hands on my stomach, asking God for a sibling. First, “God, if you want us to have a baby, will you give us one?” to later, “Please, we really want a baby”, to eventually just stating it, “God, thank you that you are going to give me a brother or sister.”

May all of our prayers progress from feeble questions to confident declarations of certainty.

We prayed, asked, cried, and yes, were disappointed, but prayed again and again. Imperfectly. Sometimes doubting. But together, we kept declaring. Thank you Jesus that you are always on time. No doubt the Lord has ordained this baby, for this era, and this moment. Right on time. 🙏🏽 by @dani.hicks
