Basic Adidas + a basket of Sharpies + one overly confident mom sitting on her bed one afternoon with a sick kiddo 😂🎨👟 I had this idea to turn a plain pair of @adidas into custom sneakers for my little dude using @sharpie Creative Markers — and less than an afternoon later, HERE WE ARE!! I covered them in some of his favorite foods: pickles, blueberries, pasta, cherries, tomatoes, grapes, strawberries, lollipops, edamame, lemons, cucumber, shrimp, apples, chocolate and more 🍓🍋🍇🍫 Are they professionally customized? Nope. But I designed & created it! Are they perfectly imperfect and made specifically for him? YES 🥹 And honestly, making something with my hands just because I had an idea and wanted to see if I could pull it off? 10/10 dopamine. 🌈 Your internet girlfriend’s helpful hint: sometimes the craft really is just buy the markers and see what happens 💅🏼 I’ll report back once I seal them!! My version of a Sunday reset: productive-ish yet multi-tasking 😂🧺📺 I’ve figured out that if I’m going to catch up on laundry, I might as well put on some Bravo and trick myself into thinking I’m relaxing at the same time 💅🏼 Wash the laundry. Watch the Housewives. Hang the laundry. Fresh sheets on the bed. Feel wildly accomplished. And then wait for the summer bedspread to finish drying because my son unfortunately PUKED ON THE BED THIS MORNING 🫠😂 Motherhood really knows how to keep a reset humble. Anyway, this is one of my favorite little multitasking hacks because chores are approximately 87% less offensive when there’s Bravo involved. My current Trader Joe’s chai hack ☕️✨ Consider this your latest installment of Dani Will Help: helpful sh*t that also happens to save you money 💌💅🏼 I buy their Spiced Chai Tea Concentrate + either the Vanilla Almond Spiced Chai Protein Smoothie or Banana Almond Butter Protein Smoothie because they’re made with pea protein 💪🏼 Over ice: ✨ equal parts chai concentrate + protein smoothie ✨ top with regular oat milk ✨ stir & enjoy And the sneaky best part? I can get at least FOUR drinks out of one bottle of protein smoothie + one bottle of chai concentrate which is under $10 for the 2, my local cafe charges $6-$8 each and aren’t as tasty 🙌🏼 So she’s delicious, has some extra protein AND is a bargain. Turns out, I needed a little spark back too 💗✨ One of the reasons I started this page was because I wanted somewhere to be creative again. Somewhere to play, make things, share the random shit in my brain; and it has evolved from there. I got over my fear of being in front of the camera and now I get to show up, get dressed up, be helpful, be ridiculous… and just express myself. Especially becoming a mom. I love being a mom. Deeply. But I also really love being Dani. And I think that’s become such a big part of what self-love motherhood means to me — not trying to find the person I was before becoming a mom, but continuing to discover who I am alongside it. This silly little corner of the internet has given me a place to do that. To create just because it feels good. To follow an idea because it makes my brain light up. To remind myself that the things that make me me still deserve time and space too.
