Hip, hip, hooray for our 2026 scholarship winners 👏

Each year, SODA awards scholarships to students who are passionate about organ, eye, and tissue donation advocacy and ready to create change on their campuses.

This year’s recipients were selected through three scholarship opportunities:

💙 The Daniel Gives Back Scholarship (with @daniel.gives.back) and Student Advocacy Scholarship (with @second.chance.fund) support students who will bring donation education and registration to their campuses through SODA events and initiatives.

🎓 The HBCU Legacy Scholarship celebrates students who are expanding the future of donation advocacy at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This year’s recipients will make history as the founding members of SODA’s first HBCU chapter at Xavier University!

Congratulations to Tess Hansen, 4th recipient of the Daniel Gives Back Brookfield East scholarship, who demonstrated exceptional leadership as President of Best Buddies, a Badger Girls Wisconsin State Ambassador, and an active member of Hope Squad, FBLA, and National Honor Society. 101 strong for Team Daniel Gives Back!
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the 11th Annual Cream City 5K @creamcity5k and helped make this day so meaningful.
As we approach 4 years since Daniel’s accident, passing, and organ donation, we are beyond grateful to everyone who continues to help us keep his memory alive — through our 5K run, blood drives, chess tournaments, and all the other events supporting our mission.
Thank you to our family, friends, and supporters for continuing to keep Daniel in your hearts and helping spread awareness about organ donation.

April 10, 2026 was National Blue & Green Day 💙💚—a day dedicated to raising awareness for organ, eye, and tissue donation. Across the country, landmarks lit up in the official Donate Life colors to honor donors, celebrate recipients, and inspire others to register. The Hoan Bridge shined blue and green in tribute. Thank you to @versitibloodcenterofwisconsin, @donatelifewisconsin, and @lightthehoan for helping spread this important message. A special thank you to @judgemosley for being a tremendous supporter of organ donation from the recipient side—it means so much to us as a donor family. We honor Daniel and all the incredible organ donors who have given the gift of life.

Huge thank you to all our donors from our 15th and 16th blood drives in December 23, 2025 and March 4, 2026! We are so grateful to @brookfieldacademywi and @gehealthcare for hosting and @versitibloodcenterofwisconsin for your incredible partnership. Because of your generosity, we’ve now reached 867 blood products collected across all of our drives-impacting 2,591 patient lives in Daniel’s memory.
