[PT/ENG] No ABERTO RUA, Daniel Jorge apresenta “Rios, Revoltas e Correntezas” , uma instalação composta por grandes pedras-talco atravessadas por correntes, moedas, ferramentas e metais incrustados. Dispostas horizontalmente ao longo da Avenida Faria Lima, as esculturas aproximam o peso físico da matéria às estruturas invisíveis que sustentam a cidade, tensionando relações entre trabalho, circulação e poder.Ao levar materiais ligados à mineração, ao trabalho manual e à construção histórica do Brasil para o espaço público, o artista transforma a paisagem da cidade em um campo de fricção entre capital e corpo, fluxo e contenção, presença e apagamento. Correntes e moedas aparecem presas à matéria bruta — visíveis, mas inacessíveis — evocando sistemas em que o trabalho sustenta a produção de riqueza sem necessariamente participar dela. Aqui, a obra insere densidade física e simbólica no cotidiano acelerado da cidade.Edição: @renanbenedit—Daniel Jorge presents Rivers, Revolts and Currents at ABERTO RUA, an installation composed of large soapstone boulders pierced by chains, coins, tools, and embedded metal elements. Arranged horizontally along Avenida Faria Lima, the sculptures bring together the physical weight of matter and the invisible structures that sustain the city, foregrounding tensions between labor, circulation, and power.By bringing materials associated with mining, manual labor, and Brazil’s historical construction into the public realm, the artist transforms the urban landscape into a site of friction between capital and the body, flow and restraint, presence and erasure. Chains and coins appear attached to the raw stone—visible yet inaccessible—evoking systems in which labor generates wealth without necessarily sharing in its benefits. Beautiful window light at @pivosalvador as we launched the catalog for Era do Escambo, Daniel Jorge’s show at @paulodarzegaleria.
