Congratulations to 𝙎𝙖𝙗𝙖, one of the 2025–2026 Reboot Studios Creator Fund projects, which made its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival this month! ✨

Directed by DreamWorks veteran Liron Topaz, 𝙎𝙖𝙗𝙖 is an animated short film about a boy and his grandfather living in a surreal world where gravity is reversed.

Recently featured in @tribeca animated shorts program curated by Whoopi Goldberg, the film is inspired by Topaz’s own family and becomes a lyrical meditation on loss, inheritance, and the impossible wish for just five more minutes with the people we love.

A story about memory, family, and what keeps us tethered — even when the world turns upside down. 🎬

What an amazing honor that SABA has been selected for the Opening Night program at Palm Springs International ShortFest!

SABA screens tonight as part of Opening Night and again on June 27. We hope to see some of you there!

ShortFest has always been such an important celebration of short films, and we’re deeply grateful to be included in a lineup that, in their words: “capture what ShortFest is all about - a little laughter, connection, and a whole lot of heart”.

What makes this even more exciting is that SABA is the ONLY animated film featured on Opening Night! :) It’s a wonderful reminder that animation is a medium, not a genre.

After years of work on this film, we can’t wait to share it with audiences in Palm Springs. We’re also looking forward to meeting other filmmakers and celebrating their films.

For the past few years I’ve been working on a personal short film called Saba. After a long journey, we’ve finally finished it - and I’m thrilled to share that it’s been selected for its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

I honestly can’t express how proud I am of this film - and of everyone who helped bring it to life. We were incredibly lucky to collaborate with some of the most talented artists out there.

I’ll start sharing the process soon, and all the incredible work that went into bringing it to life.

Thank you all for the support. by @daniel.markovich
