💥👀 JusCurious Tees are OUT! 👀💥

Here is JusCurious - for all those interested in art and culture and whatever niche topic that's got you hook line and sinker; JusCurious wants to share ideas and enthusiasms.

Currently in beta stage so I've launched the first design with something simple and hopefully words that resonate.

Some of you might recognise your favourite Scouse tight wire walker on the back @grace.neville.evans .

Grace is an inspiring person who pushes her limits constantly and finds a way to do the things that she loves for the joy of it all. This was a photograph I took whilst she was 30+ ft in the air on a windy day with the most gorgeous collection of female tightwire walkers as part of a project @bassalto. In Brussels.

It's truly awe-inspiring to see people pursue what they love and commit to it.

The second feature is the last lines of one of my favourite spoken word pieces I call 'Icarus'.

"Things aren't going to chance overnight, but we can start to build foundations that we can walk upon, turn them in steps and focus and in the long run, as we see Icarus fall past our sides we'll say, they should've built steps before they tried to fly."

So I'm learning to walk with this before I run.
(Or run before I walk) 😉

DM me if you'd like to buy one!

I've got small, medium and large.

They're only £25 and as a limited run I'm only stocking 40-50 t-shirts, so when they're gone they're gone!
I can post aswell and will include that in final price 🤜

I've used water based inks and spent ages identifying the best quality distributor for the material making sure it was fair trade and sustainable cotton. Trying to implement sustainable practice from that start. 💚

Photographs of my current exhibition 'Karesansui' at @theroyalstandard_ . Some absolutely gorgeous images captured by the man himself @rjbattersby ❤️🙏

There is one way for me to summarise my work and current show. It is through the Taoist principle of the "uncarved block" (often referred to as "pu" in Chinese) alludes to the idea of natural simplicity + a state of pure potential. It represents something in its original, unaltered state, free from biases, preconceptions, or imposed structures.

Here's a brief breakdown:

1. +Natural Simplicity+: At its core, the uncarved block is about valuing simplicity and authenticity. It suggests that by returning to our natural, untouched state, we can better understand the essence of Tao (the universal principle that is the source of all existence).

2. +Potential+: An uncarved block has infinite possibilities. It can be carved into any shape or form. Similarly, when we remain open-minded and free from set patterns, we retain a vast potential for growth and transformation.

3. +Non-Action+: This concept is also tied to the Taoist principle of "wu wei," which means "non-action" or "acting without effort." Like the uncarved block, wu wei emphasizes flowing with nature and not forcing or imposing our will. It's about letting things unfold naturally.

4. +Freedom from Preconceptions+: The uncarved block symbolizes a mind that is free from prejudices, societal norms, and external pressures. In this state, one is said to be more receptive to the wisdom of Tao.

5. +Childlike Quality+: The principle also underscores the value of a child's perspective. Children, in their innocence, see the world without the biases and complications that adults acquire over time. This childlike perspective is likened to the purity and authenticity of the uncarved block.

To sum it up, the uncarved block is a metaphor that Taoists use to encourage returning to a state of simplicity, authenticity, and potential. By embodying the qualities of the uncarved block, one can be more in tune with the Tao and navigate life with greater ease and wisdom 🙌 by @daniel.odempsey

Big News!!! 🍍🍍🍍

I'm so unbelievably stoked and excited to say that I have recieved funding for my project 'From Paint to Print'.

My work and approach towards painting has made me realise if my work is going to expand to where I want it to be then print making is essential to my development. I love layers. 😅🙈

Genuinely so pleased and have to thank @jennyyycoyleyyy & @grace.neville.evans for all their help and support. ❤️🔥❤️

I'm totally psyched to be working with @rhondaanaconda at @dingle_community_print and hopefully get myself over to the @bluecoatprintstudio and absorb everything people have to say.

Finally a humongous thank you to @aceagrams for awarding myself the funding to pursue this opportunity and develop my practice further and learn new skills.

Let's go! 👑❤️😎

Your thoughts...
Which legs for which table?
Leaning towards the yellow legs with the purple top and the blue legs with the pink top... 🤔
