The Particle plate- converts audio signals into midi notes which can be used to trigger many layers of sound design simultaneously, the midi tracks have their audio gated to the incoming audio trigger so it feels more tactile and responsive. Using river stones on concrete here for the interface. by @daniel.otoole

LIGHT MAP // a generative sample based constellation.

This is a new software instrument I’ve been developing - Each star is an audio sample that can be tuned based on its position in the vertical axis, horizontal position related to each sounds place in the stereo field and various connection types control how the sound travels between stars. Forwards/ reverse/ fade out/ fade in etc. these sound were samples from traditional Japanese music on vinyl. The dense clusters of points that trigger in the background are micro samples made from fm and additive synthesis using very fast clicky envelopes. To be continued.. by @daniel.otoole
