I first met Georg Haberler some weeks ago when a new day bar opened in Vienna's Rosewood hotel. Since the hotel's general manager is also an avid art collector, one of Georg's pictures was nearby and he showed me one of his works, executed with paint on canvas but mainly thread and a sewing machine.

I was rather enthralled, in today's issue he tells my colleague Magdalena Mayer about his technique and how textile art is still very much gendered.

We've got lots of other good stuff in today's issue, from Minotti's GamFratesi to Palazzo Gucci, new workouts and self-reflecting books about masculinity. And all the season's important watch news of course.

Since I spent some days in always adorable Berlin last week I thought I might just as well create some permanent content.

Went there for @currents.berlin and also a little bit of Berlin Art Week, notably Maurizio Cattelan at Neue Nationalgalerie and his horrible cute or whatever mini Hit*er, which/who really does spark the contrary of joy in Berlin - and now, especially.

Angela M. with her porcelain cup however, always 🫶 (even though my friend Anne told me to not exaggerate when raving about ol' Angie).

Some of the things I saw this summer which caught my eye. 🌞🍉🥮

Quite the mix, from Hangzhou's West Lake and tiny sweet tomatoes in Shanghai to smiling melons and Monchhichis in Jakarta and lots and lots of delicacies in Hong Kong and Xiamen and everywhere we went.

Jakarta is maybe not entirely my happy place but it's always good to find out such a thing for yourself.

Madonna album drop appreciation and Florence celebration with a lot of Gucci, mainly. Love the outfit worn by M in 1995 when she practically co-launched Tom Ford's vision for Gucci. And crazy for the foamy and delicious shakerati at Caffè Gilli.
