Not a Public Figure - Just Figuring it out
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Probably should’ve made three posts instead of trying to fit it all into one, but Lauren and I just wrapped up eight months abroad.
We traveled New Zealand in a van, spent Christmas in Australia, surfed in Indonesia, hit the road for another two months in the van, worked at a hunting lodge, and finished it all off in Fiji with Lauren’s family.
I feel incredibly lucky that everything worked out and that I got to experience all of it with my best friend. Even better, after being together 24/7 for eight months, we still like each other. Love you lots, Lauren! ❤️
A huge thank you to all the friends we met along the way and all the homies we crossed paths with. I also got to have my family visit twice; first for a massive road trip, then again for the tahr hunt. Special shoutout to @100dollarbilliam ; we could not have done it without you.

I am really unsure how to wrap my head around what we accomplished. It’s like when people were asking me in the beginning how I am going to do it. I was not sure in my own mind, but I was confident I could complete the first day. After that I took it one day at a time. When we were about 3 days from finishing for the first time I could see myself making it and became harder. I was not sticking to what was working. Which is taking it one day at a time. In life it’s important to not get caught up in your end goal, but focus on one success at a time to move the needle to get you closer. I am enjoying telling stories to everyone asking and processing myself what I have learned. There is lot such as I probably developed a cafe breakfast addiction, and 5 cups of coffee is not always good for your or you bowels, old men can be funny, yell excessively in bear country, and you can live off gas station food, more importantly I learned life is not always fair. Simply the weather will not always go your way and can kick you while you are down or there will be hills that just keep giving. No matter how bad I wanted to stop quitting was not an option. No matter how bad of a hand you’re given find a way through it. This trip has taught me to expect things, to continue to build off my foundation, keep growing, and chase unrealistic goals one step/peddle at a time. by @daniel_kempers

It is currently the 17th day and we are just about 1600 miles into this ride. We have just over 1100 miles more to go. Thank you for everyone who’s been following along and more importantly doing push-ups. We had a great half day into steamboat where we refilled our tank, emotionally and physically, by eating a big ribeye steak dinner and stories and laughter with friends. Felt weird talking with someone different than the other three riders with me. I wish I could say the days get easier and some are but some seem like our longest days yet. Like yesterday we covered nearly 7000 vertical feet, in only 75 miles over 13 hours, because of a strong head winds the entire day. Not to add it is the middle of Wyoming with nothing but sage brush to look at. These challenges don’t just break you down, physically, but emotionally as well. It’s important to remember WHY you’re in the fight to stay in the fight. I am still working on my WHY but for now I have decided it’s to continue to push my comfort zone/ limits and to discover new parts of myself by investigating old memories. Canada here we come! #bikepacking #tourdivide #challenge #pushup #canada by @daniel_kempers

Push Up The Divide

We are biking from the boarder of Mexico to Banff Canada along the Great Divide. We have been biking for 4 days and covered just shy of 400 miles. The last 4 days have been a true test to my character/physical and mental strength. But most of all rewarding. The crew I am with are all 30 years older than me, one of them being my dad. They are motivating and hilarious.
Push up the divide was the idea of Bushy the owner of Manic training in Steamboat. He decided along with every mile we bike we will also do a push up. So we have done 400 push ups so far. We are encouraging all to join us in some of the pain! We challenge you to do 100 push ups a day for the month of June. (Granted we finish by then) That may seem like a lot but you can break it up all through out the day. More or less just do some push ups. Get your summer body! Maybe it’s right before you go to bed/wake up or right after you shit. I am hoping some of you follow along our journey. Click the link in my bio to follow us.
