They actually got married at Bunnings Warehouse.

Yes, Australia’s answer to B&Q/Home Depot. And yes, there’s a genuinely romantic reason why.

Artist Daisy and gardener Daniel spend a ridiculous amount of their weekends there. Before they were even together, Daisy had a dream that the two of them were shopping at Bunnings with their future children - which helped convince her to ask Daniel out.

Getting married there became a running joke. Then they found a branch willing to let them do it.

The result was a DIY and hi-vis-inspired neon wedding that used every strange little skill they had between them.

Daisy sewed her own enormous hand-painted wedding dress, with Daniel helping to paint it. He customised her platform trainers. She made the bridesmaids’ Powerpuff Girl-style outfits for around $40 each. There were Troll Dolls in the bouquet, bubble wands instead of bridesmaid flowers and thrifted suits dyed at home.

Then they served burgers and fries in their own screen-printed “happy meal” boxes, complete with blind-box toys they’d designed and 3D printed themselves.

The Bunnings courtyard itself? Free. Their wedding date was even dictated by the store’s quieter trading season, meaning their anniversary will forever be determined by peak hardware-shopping times.

❤️ RIP Gregory the Monster Car ‘07-‘26 ❤️

The other day we said goodbye to @daisyattack ‘s Monster Car. He was a troubled boy, but most of the time he functioned OK.

Iconically he’s always been very extra if not for his engine issues, his exuberant paint job by Daisy (it took 3 weeks to paint!) and it turned heads at every corner, to the point where I’d lock eyes with someone staring and be thinking, “wot?” Forgetting the car was no longer silver.

One day we parked next to the famous astroturf-covered Mitsubishi Mirage “Wollongong Golf Car”. He liked that.

His first engine mishap (of many) was iconically extra- one day Daisy was driving towards an intersection and she heard a jackhammer noise. The timing chain actually snapped, ripping off 8 teeth, blew the head gasket and bent 2x intake and 4x exhaust valves. After this repair he ran the best he ever had!

Finally, a gearbox fault meant it wasn’t worth holding onto. In his true style, we parked him outside on the street and got a flat battery the next day.

✨ JUST MARRIED! ✨

My best friend and partner @daisyattack and I, said “I do” on Saturday with our friends and family, gathered at Bunnings Warehouse, Alexandria!!!

To say it was a magical day doesn’t quite do it justice. The choice of location was because of our shared love of Bunnings, which was the site we had our first date at because we are smooth operators- in fact, before we even started dating, Daisy told me she had a dream that we lost our kids at Bunnings and then found our bespectacled children in the ball-pit, when she said this, I replied “Oh yeah?! that sounds pretty good!” and then we proceeded to date for 6 years. This dream was the reassurance Daisy needed to ask me out (due to me being an anxious ‘lil guy).

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us and a special thank you to Jeanette the events coordinator of Bunnings Alexandria, whom without her help this day would not have been possible. Thank you to our bridal party whose continuous support was second to none and for our families for seeing the vision. Although our wedding was unconventional, it was perfect for us.

We got married at Bunnings on Saturday! I’ve been so excited to share all the crafts we made for it!! First up is our invitations! We hand screen printed them together in our kitchen for all our guests! @daniel_manzini and I both make zines so I thought it would be cute to do the invites as zines! So Danol did the illustrations and I laid out the designs and exposed the screens! Danol is gardener so he also collected flowers at work and dried and pressed them so each guest got a flower with their invites! We also printed custom neon envelopes! Because we got married at bunnings warehouse we thought a high vis vibe was a perfect nod to the bunnings and also my life long dedication to neon! We wanted the print the save the date cards too but ran out of time and ended up printing them at officeworks! The envelopes and zines were printed with neon paints that cost 4 bucks a bottle from officeworks on Kmart water colour paper! We were so delighted with how they turned out and were so excited for them to arrive to all our loved ones! by @daniel_manzini

Welcome to the family Crungus John-Paul cubic cube! Today we drove to Strathfield and drove home with a new pal 🥺 I’ve always wanted a cube car feels so surreal to finally have one! I love haha! Fun fact! One of the first convos we had when me and danol first met was about cube cars- me a passionate cube lover and danol a passionate hater- he said “it has a huge blind spot” I said “the only blind spot is you not seeing how GREAT Nissan cubes are” hahaha now Danol LOVES the cube hahaha by @daniel_manzini

Last night, 30 August marked 5 years of being with my best friend and partner @daisyattack
She is the best and I asked her to join me in marriage which she said yes! This occurred at Victoria Park where our first date was on the same day in 2020 but it was a bit dark so we did a reenactment at Kmart! taken in Victoria Park by @daniel_manzini
