Moving to Canada taught me so much, and some habits just stuck with me:

1. Thanking the bus driver every single time 🚌 It takes two seconds and it makes someone’s day.

2. Saying “sorry” for everything 😅 Even when someone bumps into ME. It’s a reflex now.

3. Going outside no matter the weather ☔️ If I waited for the sun in Vancouver, I’d never leave the house. Rain is not an excuse anymore.

4. Holding the door for whoever is behind me 🚪 Even if they’re 10 steps away. We wait.

5. Wearing whatever I want 👟 Nobody is looking at you or judging your outfit. That freedom hits different.

6. Weekends in nature 🏔️ Hikes, lakes, mountains. Brunch is great, but fresh air is better.

7. Being polite about literally everything 🙏🏽 Please, thank you, excuse me, have a great day… Kindness is the default here, and it changed the way I treat people.

My first year in Canada, I had no idea how to dress for the cold. Coming from a tropical climate, I’m always freezing 🥶 One of the first brands people recommended to me was @aritzia and after working there, I can confirm the hype is real.

If you live here or you’re about to move, my No.1 tip is to invest in a good winter jacket. If it’s waterproof, even better, especially in Vancouver, where the rain never stops ☔ (and the snow doesn’t help either).

When I moved to Vancouver, I had no idea there were so many things to do in every season 🍂 And October, my favourite month, never disappoints, because it brings one of my favourite activities: pumpkin patches 🎃

This year I went to @richcountryfarms and here’s the tea:

🎟️ Entry was $15 and your pumpkin is INCLUDED

🚜 The tractor ride comes with live singing and drops you right at the pumpkin patch

🚂 A little train takes you around the whole farm

🐐 Goats, pigs, ducks and the PEACOCKS

👻 Halloween decorations everywhere + so many photo spots and flowers

Making friends in Vancouver is harder than getting a work permit… or is that just a limiting belief? 👀

This city is always moving. People come and go, and everyone’s busy with work, family, the gym. So friendship here doesn’t just happen, you have to make time for it. But it’s possible, and it’s so worth it 🤍

When someone asks me why I love Vancouver, I just take them here 🌊🏙️🏔️

Olympic Village is one of my favourite walks in the city: the ocean, the downtown skyline and the mountains, all in one view. THIS is what they mean by Beautiful British Columbia. Vancouver, you’re chef’s kiss 😘
