one of my absolute best friends @maggiehayesart and i went to the beach early this summer + while initially i liked the photos, i had been talking myself out of posting them. i feel i fall into the category of “privilege” when it comes to weight + i completely accept that! in turn, i often feel as if i can’t validly feel insecure about the things i’m, well...insecure about. mostly, aside from the physical comments about my daily intake of food + constant mentioning of my size 🙄...i’m deemed too loud, too much, too bold - yet still...not enough, as are most of us. we’re left to feel as if we will never know who we are, because of everyone expecting us to be who they’ve projected us to be. ✨stop commenting on people’s weight✨ no matter what size they are. i pick at myself + let others opinions pick at me. my logic: if i say the negative thing about myself before someone else can say it i won’t be as hurt; complete backwards thinking righttttt?! 😆. i’ve finally had to sit back + internalize why i need to stop + be nice to myself.. im vowing to not pick myself apart all the time + i need you to, too :) once again thanks for coming to my Ted Talk, but before i sign off, whats a little humor without darkness?! ;) scroll for the body double... 🥴 #darkhumor #meninblack #alllimbs #zoominlikeiknowuwill 📸: @maggiehayesart by @danielaladoncella

Relationships... whether platonic or romantic, require the ability to feel where the other is coming from and not only give your heart the way you’d want it to be given, but they way they’d want it to be given. I know what you’re thinking.. “🙄”.. but as a typically private person, let me be open + honest with you all; Life...has been hard. When you see this photo you may see a very happy girl, on a boat, with her ass out on IG. But - what I see, is someone who’s been diligently focusing on her mental + physical health; someone who has been investing in herself + her future; someone who intends to evolve + continuously strive to be better than she ever was; someone who FINALLY has a genuine smile on her face. This has been the toughest 7 months ever. I never expected to have such motivation to take care of myself after shit hit the fan, after life got so overwhelming. But I did + although each day is a struggle, I’m glad to be here - booty and all. :) don’t know how I could have survived without my tribe of close friends + family cheering for me when I was gasping for air. I love and appreciate all of you, for the prayers + positive energy sent my way. They weren’t in vain. 💕If you are ever struggling please feel free to reach out, as I am here for support - always. & next time you see a post, understand that it is one second captured out of the millions we’ve lived. Happiness is fleeting, life has its ebbs and flows. We’re all trying our best. Don’t judge based on your conditioning; there’s more underneath the surface than meets the eye.
