POSTS STORIES REELS

10 YEARS. A whole decade behind the camera!!!!

Ten years of showing up, figuring it out, taking chances, making mistakes, growing, changing, and somehow building a business that has become such a big part of who I am.

When I started, I had no idea what this would turn into. I didn’t know the people I’d meet, the stories I’d get to tell, the places I’d go, or just how much of my life would be shaped by this little business. All started with my fiance (now husband of ALMOST 10 years as well) gifting me a camera. Shout out to K for being my first model ever! 🤪🥲

I’ve photographed engagements that turned into weddings, weddings that turned into maternity sessions, maternity sessions that turned into newborn sessions, and families who have trusted me to document year after year of their lives.

I’ve watched strangers become familiar faces, clients become friends, and little babies grow into big kids in front of my lens.

I’ve also built this business through planning a wedding, motherhood, life changes, long editing nights, busy seasons, hard decisions, and a whole lot of figuring it out as I go.

And somewhere along the way, photography became so much more than taking pretty pictures.
It’s the relationships. The trust. The in between moments. The privilege of being invited into some of the biggest, sweetest, messiest, most meaningful parts of people’s lives.

Ten years later, I’m still here. Still creating. Still growing. Still finding new ways to challenge myself. And honestly, I think I’m just getting started…

To every person who has ever stepped in front of my camera, referred a friend, shared my work, trusted me with a milestone, or supported this business in any way…thank you!!!!!

You have played a part in this decade, and I don’t take that lightly.

Here’s to ten years of memories, and whatever the next ten have in store. 🤍

From their engagement session to their wedding day, and now this season of growing their family. 🤍

There’s something so special about getting to photograph more than just one chapter of someone’s life. Getting to watch their story unfold, meet them in all these different seasons, and now document the little life they’ve created together.
A maternity session with horses, the sweetest in between moments, and so much to look forward to. And soon, I’ll get to meet the newest little piece of their story at their newborn session.

This is the part of photography that means the most to me. Not just showing up for a day, but getting to keep showing up as life changes.

What an honor it is to tell their story, again and again. 🤍 by @danielarollinphotoco

Kind of rude of Instagram to just let me post 20 images when I literally have about a million to share so I might have to have a part 2!

Anyway. I think I’m going to start writing down my thoughts about wedding days while I’m still on the high of them!
It’s always strange to me how I can walk into a room full of complete strangers and, by the time I leave, feel like I know them.

I know the way he looks at her when she isn’t paying attention.
I know which friend will make her laugh when she’s nervous.
I know how her mom will look at her when she walks down the aisle.
I know the stories behind the people standing beside them.
I know the little moments that almost nobody else noticed.

And somehow, for one day, I get invited into all of it.

That’s the part of this job I’ll never take for granted.

I don’t just get to photograph a wedding day.
I get to witness people becoming family, old stories being made new, and two people choosing each other in front of everyone they love.
Then the wedding ends. Everyone goes home. The music stops. And I’m left with thousands of photographs and the feeling that I just spent an entire day inside someone else’s life.

Maybe that’s the magic of it.

You arrive as a stranger, spend a day witnessing a love story that isn’t yours, and leave carrying a little piece of it with you.

October weddings have a way of making me slow down and really feel it all. There’s just something about witnessing a love that has grown through real life, through all the seasons that came before this one and only it’s just the beginning.

Oh, I know you remember when I said I wasn’t going to get sappy anymore but my gosh...I hope that when people look back at their photos years from now, they dont just remember how everything looked...I hope they remember exactly how it felt to be there, surrounded by their people and stepping into a completely new yet familiar life.

Newborn season is my favorite season!

Slow sessions, lots of creativity..not just wrapping a baby but take in all the sweet breaths, grunts and yawns.

There’s something to be said about being a newborn photographer after having your own children, the confidence, the maternal instinct to not let them cry. I could go and on.

Pure bliss, if you ask me! by @danielarollinphotoco

Gorgeous people, perfect fall weather and not one single complaint about being outside taking photos in a beautiful fall afternoon. October 100% understood the assignment! 🍂

Dark, moody inside and somehow 75 degrees outside...basically the wedding of my dreams.
...but, I have to tell you, the real glow was her ❤

A bride who has walked through more than most, overcome more than people will ever know and that found her way to the kind of love that feels like coming home.

They met each other later in life but maybe that’s the point, the best things dont always come on your timeline. Sometimes, the best things show up when you are finally ready to welcome them.

...and these two?? ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE WAIT!!!

Flower field ✔️
Beautiful sunset ✔️
Two people who clearly really like each other ✔️

I mean…I’m not sure what more you need. 😂

Golden light, a little wandering around, a lot of laughing, and the kind of connection that makes photographing you two ridiculously easy.

Just add “can we do this forever?” to the list. 🤍 (thankfully, very soon) by @danielarollinphotoco

Your child is not content.

I wanted to wait until I was truly informed and truly understand what this all meant and how it affected my business.

Do we really understand what “safe” means anymore?

AI has changed what can happen to an innocent photograph. Are we taking the time to research the risks, understand the protections that exist, and learn where the gaps are?

Some families genuinely love having their images shared. They’re proud, excited, and happy to see their families featured. I love celebrating them, too. Some absolutely don’t want any image of their children online and celebrate milestones in private. Both are 100% valid.

But there’s a difference between a parent saying yes and giving informed permission. I think it’s important that they know what they are agreeing to and fully saying yes to their images being shared if needed.

As photographers, we should ask more than:

“Can I post this?”

We should also ask:

“Do I need to?”

Sometimes the answer is yes. Sometimes it’s no. Both are okay.

I’ll continue documenting childhood and sharing beautiful images..with intention, informed parental permission, and more thought about what happens after I hit “post.”

Because your child isn’t content. by @danielarollinphotoco

It was one of those wedding days where everything was absolutely perfect… until it was time for pictures…just my luck, right?

The rain decided that was its moment, 10 minutes into portraits!

So we pivoted, packed up the plan, and took the party to the studio instead. And honestly? It worked so well, no one got wet and we got beautiful memories!

The tears flowed, the rain flowed, and so did the love. There was so much emotion, so much laughter, and so many little moments that could never have been planned anyway.

I guess sometimes the best photos come from Plan B.

And sometimes Plan B is just moving the whole dang thing inside and making it work!
Ash and Trey you two absolutely rocked the day and I can’t wait for more milestones because I already miss you guys!
