Really happy to announce that my film “Movie & Sound” will be showing at the American Cinemateque @am_cinematheque “This Is Not A Fiction” festival on April 12 at the Los Feliz 3 theater. The film is a short documentary I have been working on for the last year and a half about what happens in a motion picture film lab, specifically in a unique lab that just happened to be 15 minutes where I’m from outside of Florence. It’s shot part 35mm and part digital and will be projected on 35mm (thanks to @americancinemateque). So excited to premiere it in LA and would love to see any friends there. There is a long list of people and collaborators to thank but I’ll start with the lab @movieandsoundfirenzesrl and sound and the owners of the lab themselves Marco and Michelle, who allowed me make an experimental documentary that shows their incredible craft, the historical craft of motion picture film technicians. By Yourself is world premiering today at @fantastic.fest in Austin, with following screenings next week at @beyondfest in Los Angeles and at @brooklynhorrorfest in NYC the week after! Shot in Idyllwild mountains with a fantastic team all around. Thankful to be a part of this film, and excited for more Genre/Horror projects. THE FORMAT “HOLY ROLLER” Was a joy to shoot the return of pop punk band @theformat on 35mm @kodak_shootfilm with an amazing team. We had max 1-2 takes per shot, all shot in 1 day on Arricam LT and Canon K35 25-120 zoom, b camera was my SR2 with a Canon 10.5-210 (shoutout to my brother on b cam @benmullen). Was a lot of fun to use the Arri Timing Shift box also known by Vanessa and I on set as “The time splitter”. Thanks again to @pukapla for having me.
