Happy National Daughter’s Day and a little life update on our girl! 💜 Oh, my Momma heart… I couldn’t be more proud! 🥹 It’s been 37 days since she flew the coop and in just that short time, she has stepped into so many new adventures. She started her junior year of college at a new school, found a fun part-time job in a new town, took on a lot of the responsibility of living solo in her very first apartment, and has been learning and figuring things out along the way, with all of our love and support behind her. She’s ROCKING it all! 🥰 Kaitlyn, keep chasing your dreams. You deserve the world and so much more! We are so proud of you and the young lady you are! You’ve got this! Happy National Daughter’s Day! September 11 - Through the gates of the “Secret City” and onto the grounds of ORNL (Oak Ridge National Laboratory). What an AMAZING experience! We got to tour the X-10 Graphite Reactor, see the SUPER Computer, visit SNS (amazing but took zero pics 🤦🏻‍♀️), and make a few other stops along the way. There was SO much to take in!
For Adam and me, this was such a cool full-circle moment. We’ve visited Pearl Harbor and Hiroshima, Japan, so being at the place that played such a huge role in the making of the nuclear bombs was pretty cool. Seeing it with your own eyes just hits differently. Not many people get the opportunity to do what we did, and we have my little brother, Jerid, to thank for making it happen! It was seriously awesome! We also got to visit the building where he works and see a little glimpse of what he does. We know where he works, but until we actually seen it with our own eyes, it’s hard to really picture it. Now we have a much better understanding of the amazing work he gets to be a part of.
We learned A LOT, saw so much, and left with a greater appreciation for the incredible research and studies that continue to happen at ORNL. It’s honestly mind-blowing! ⚛️🔬

Of course, pictures weren’t allowed in some areas, but I grabbed a few where I could. More posts to come. by @daniele.bushey

August… What a month of changes, growing, new beginnings, excitement, bittersweet moments, and so much happiness. A month that reminded me how quickly life moves and how beautiful and sometimes emotional it can be. So many memories made, happy tears shed, and moments I’ll hold onto forever. A true rags to riches story.
A voice we will never forget.
Songs we will sing forever.
A servants heart that was made of gold. A personality bigger than life, a sense of humor that could light up a room, and a look that was her own. The kindness that touched generations. She also reminded us to dream big, work hard, love others, and never forget where we came from. What a blessing she has been to this world. Thank you, Dolly! We will always love you! 💖🦋

So bittersweet, yet so thankful for the last two days with my girl. Watching her settle into her new apartment has been filled with so many emotions. Excitement, pride, a few tears, and that feeling of realizing just how quickly life is changing. 🥹 The emotions are high for all of us, and I know it will take some time as we navigate this new normal. It doesn’t necessarily get easier with each child who leaves, the worries just look a little different each time. But having experienced this twice before, I also know she will learn, grow, figure out what she needs to, and find her way. Somehow, everything always works out just as it’s meant to.
Kaitlyn, we are so incredibly proud of you! We are excited to watch you step into this new chapter, make memories, grow into the woman you’re becoming, and make this season one of your very best. Happy 20th Birthday to my beautiful daughter! 🎈🥳🎂🎉 I honestly don’t know how 20 years have already gone by! Watching you grow into the amazing young woman you are today has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. I’m so incredibly proud of you and all that you are. How precious is this?🥹 A new dress came in and I wanted to try it on. I zipped it up as far as I could when Olivia said, “I can do it for you!” She helped as much as she could, but she couldn’t quite reach the top. I told her, “It’s okay. I’ll have Kaitlyn help when she gets home.” Without missing a beat, Olivia said, “bend down, Granny. I can reach it!” It never even crossed my mind to bend down so she could reach. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Sure enough, thanks to this sweet girl, my dress was zipped all the way up. 💖 Sometimes it’s the little moments like these that end up meaning the most. 🥰 #ilovebeingagranny by @daniele.bushey
