Thermal Dinner / collective dinner x @misolisasupperclub , August 2026

Over the summer we met from time to time with @misolisasupperclub to talk about things like skewers and foot baths, and so we developed the concept for the thermal dinner.

For the two evenings of the intervention, Misolisasupperclub created a special food lineup based on thermal extremes. From ice cube soup and the hottest spiciest watermelon to a long onsen-like egg bath. The setting of the dinner responded to the varying temperatures and states of food: like the dishes, the room alternately became hot, cold, steamy, smoky and wet.

Thanks so much for the creative and delicious food and thanks to everyone who joined for two lovely evenings 🌙 by @danielkoller

Thermal Delight / spatial intervention, August 2026

A temporary structure made of reclaimed roof tiles works as a „thermal device“ for existing spaces in urban context to generate a feeling of hospitality and delight. It can become a gathering place for warming up or cooling down, a sensory thermal landscape or simply a large table for a collective dinner.

It was inspired by design and social practices that have always shaped the places we live in, like the fireplace as the heart of the home or the water fountain as a vital common resource.

The installation was developed in continuous exchange with food collective @misolisasupperclub , who joined for the two evenings of the event to host the Thermal Dinner. Thanks so much for the amazing food and thanks to everyone who joined 🫧

*The title “Thermal Delight” is inspired by Lisa Heschong’s book „Thermal Delight in Architecture“, first published as her architecture master’s thesis in 1979. by @danielkoller

1m² KIOSK

In July, @maricovriehg and @danielkoller spent one month in Überlingen, Germany, for a residency by @ueberlinger.kulturschutzgebiet . They lived and worked in OMEGA B, a formerly vacant house in town center, now run as a free lab for arts, culture and encounters.

Dealing with the urban expansion plans at the former industrial site Kramer-Areal in Überlingen, they worked on a site-specific intervention: the 1m² Kiosk, a mobile structure built mostly of reused materials from the halls on Kramer-Areal set for demolition. It addresses the increasingly scarce and unaffordable space for cultural exchange and spontaneous encounters. The small kiosk temporarily marks the space that can become a stage, meeting point or mediator. In the local context, it serves as a prototype and impulse for the planned cultural center and studio house on the site.

At the end of the residency, the kiosk was moved from the historic center of Überlingen to the Kramer-Areal, together with guests and spontaneous passersby. The collective walk was accompanied by lectures and talks that contributed to the vision of an alternative, community-oriented urban development.

Many thanks also to @ueberlinger.kulturschutzgebiet for organizing this residency program and to everyone who took part in the walk and the discussions. by @danielkoller
