My dad Dominick Anthony Flora died on July 5th.
I wasn’t going to post. It’s a strange thing to publicly announce something so personal but in 2021 it’s also strange if you don’t.

It’s hard for me to come up with the right words.

My husband did such a wonderful job posting on Facebook. A beautiful tribute to my dads life and accomplishments some of which were a total surprise.

What I do know about my dad is that besides him being an incredible athlete, he was obsessed with show tunes. Because of him I know every word to every Broadway show in the history of shows. He whistled the same song my whole life. He loved the arts. He was always reading and gave me all his old books to read which now take up a room that might as well be a library at my house. He taught me every trick to win in backgammon. He’s the only one who can take down an entire family in Monopoly by putting hotels on Baltic and Mediterranean Ave.

He was a badass and I miss him. 💔💔 by @danielle.flora

@caseyleeross you made me laugh harder and deeper then anyone I know. I was free to be my complete self with no judgments. In the end I wish I had been a better friend. I wish I had checked in more. So many wonderful memories with you. You will be missed. 💔💔 by @danielle.flora
