As 2025 comes to a close, it’s impossible not to look back with a heart that feels very full — in more ways than one.

This year brought so many proud and happy moments watching Harper grow. She finished kindergarten, jumped into T-ball with much more confidence, worked hard and had fun in gymnastics and swimming, and then by starting first grade. Watching her learn, try new things, and see her personality develop has been so much fun.

But 2025 was also one of the hardest years we’ve ever experienced. Losing a pregnancy was a pain we weren’t prepared for — a grief that changed us forever. It’s a loss we still struggle to fully understand and accept, and one that will always be part of our story. Some days are heavier than others, and moving forward hasn’t been linear or easy.

This Christmas didn’t look the way we expected either. We were sick and missed time with family and friends — something that felt especially hard during a season meant for togetherness and in a year we were really looking forward to family time. But even while missing family, we still had an incredible Christmas morning.

On December 25th — the day I would have been 25 weeks with the baby we lost — we saw a positive pregnancy test. Our rainbow baby is on the way 🌈🥰 How lucky are we to be able to put this positive test on the tree, right next to the ornament we put up to celebrate our angel baby at Christmas 👼🏼❤️

We are still very early, just over 4 weeks along, but if this year has taught us anything, it’s that every baby deserves to be celebrated right away. Because hope matters and life is fragile. And joy, even when it feels scary, is still worth embracing.

So with cautious hearts, deep gratitude, and so much love, we’re sharing that we are expecting our rainbow baby in early September 2026. We’re staying positive, holding tight to hope, and praying for a healthy, full-term pregnancy.
