I’ll *finally* be getting around to sharing a bunch of work imagery from this year over the coming week (I’m only a procrastinator when it comes to social media!) but didn’t want to forget about these images by @withlovesydni for @ladesignweekend and @gantri with @erictrine 🤍 I use these Gantri lights every single day and every single day I think “Damn, I really love these lights.” Truly.

👋 Hi! Just popping in to (re)introduce myself.

I’ve been feeling a shift in my work lately, so I gave it a name: Grandma Studio. Not a full rebrand, just a way to hold the kind of work I keep coming back to, and give myself room to play ㅤ◡̈

Why Grandma? Because the word gives a sense of time and place. Like things have settled where they belong. Like something subtle already happened to make the scene feel rooted, sensible, and complete.

That’s the work. Crafting compositions and spaces where placement feels considered. Where every detail, whether it’s a prop, an interior element, or a floral touch, plays a part in the bigger story.

Leaving this long message deep in the carousel: I’m really struggling with caring about Instagram lately—while also acknowledging the duality that I’m an image maker for marketing purposes. I’m so tired of feeling the pressure to be “creating content.” I don’t want to create content. I want to create pies. I want to create clothing. I want to create photographs. I want to create handmade cards to mail to friends.

And this is not to say that creating content is “lesser than” any of these other things, but I’m just coming to accept that it feels empty to *me.* Would I maybe be more successful and have more opportunities with more eyes on me/my work? Maybe. Maybe not. I genuinely don’t know, and for the first time in a while I’m trying to be okay with not knowing.

So consider this me loosening my grip on the algorithm. Not disappearing, just choosing to spend energy on things that actually feel genuine to me, not some internet version of me 🧘‍♀️ taken in Lincoln Heights by @danielle___armstrong

Celebrated the new @mudaustralia store opening in LA this week and left with the cleanest, sexiest white porcelain bowl 🤍 A soft matte exterior, gloss glazed interior, and a perfect flared shape. These are the simple things I never get tired of collecting. by @danielle___armstrong
