If you know me, you know that sustainability and buying products that are clean without the harsh chemicals are super important to me.

When I found out what ingredients were in some of the most popular laundry detergents, it was shocking! As someone who has a background in public health, I know how some of those ingredients can really affect your health in the long-term.

I finally finished The Nightingale, and this is one of those books I appreciated even more after I closed it. The more I thought about it, the more it stayed with me.

Set in France during WWII as Germany invades the country, this story follows two women navigating unimaginable circumstances. I loved how inspiring it was and admired the incredible strength and resilience of the women throughout the book. Every chapter ended in a way that made me want to keep reading to see what would happen next.

Kristin Hannah’s writing is also so immersive. She has a way of pulling you into the setting that makes you feel like you’re right there alongside the characters.

One of my favorite things about this book is that it shows bravery isn’t always loud or fearless. Sometimes it’s found in the quiet, everyday choice to keep going, even in the face of unimaginable hardship.

I know this is a lot of people’s all time favorite book, so this might be a bit of a hot take. There were a few moments that felt a little odd to me, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending, it just felt slightly off compared to the rest of the story.

Overall, I’m really glad I read it, and despite my few critiques, it’s a book I’ll definitely remember.

Now I’m excited to watch the movie and see how it compares!

I love wearing this shirt, especially during #mentalhealthawarenessmonth. I wore it today and I just continue to get so many compliments on it. I just think it resonates with so many people and shows that we aren’t alone in our own thoughts and struggles. It includes the 988 crisis line which gives emotional support for those that need it.

The back of the shirt says “You are loved. You are not a burden. You are a gift to this world. You are more than your trauma. You are more than enough. You will make it through this. You are not done yet. You matter.”

If I can help one person by wearing this sweatshirt, than every conversation it starts is worth it. #breakingthestigma
