As I write this my heart fills with pain, never in a million years would I think I would have to say goodbye to my mother. To think I am just left with memories of you really makes me feel like I cannot go on in life without you. I watched you fight through your pain like no other person I have saw in my life. I will see your face and hear your voice everytime I close my eyes and the pain will never be erased, but to know you are no longer suffering makes it better. I thank God for the time he has gave me with you and the limitless love and compassion you have always showed to me and my siblings. You were a woman of compassion who put everyone before herself. I don’t know if I can ever amount to half of the woman you were but I will do everything to the ends of the earth to make sure I do. I know everyone who has crossed paths with you is blessed to have experienced the woman you are. The education system was blessed to have you as an educator across multiple schools between DCPS AND PGCPS, the amount of students and everlasting impact you have had on them will change those kids lives forever. You helped me get my first job and you made sure I went through college with no worries. You are the reason I dance and continue to keep that passion alive because you never wanted me to stop. You were at every game/ recital and every ceremony. I can really write a book on the woman you were. You were the world’s best mother and my biggest cheerleader through every endeavor. I pray I made you proud and you know how much I truly valued to have you. I never thought I would see this day and it truly hurts so bad , my life will never be the same without you. I will do whatever it takes to leave a legacy for you and everything you deserve. Every Mother’s Day , every birthday , EVERY DAY will hurt with not having you by our side. As selfishly as I want you here with me to hold my hand and tell me everything is okay , I pray you are finally at peace. I love you forever and I can’t wait till I get to hug you and hear your voice again. I now have a guardian angel who will walk with me on every journey.
