🛼If you told younger me where I’d be today, I would have thrown your phone across the room.

I started out just trying to make things work—navigating chaotic workplaces, over-delivering to prove my worth, and constantly feeling like I had to work twice as hard just to be taken seriously.

In 2020, I had enough of trying to fit into a system that didn’t work for me— it was time to stand out 🧬

I built a successful marketing agency by sacrificing my own salary to build a team. I woke up every day thinking I was failing.

In the middle of my personal life melting down, I managed to scale and sell my business. I thought I had made it. But what I didn’t realize? Success without alignment still feels like something’s missing.

That’s when I took a step back. I stopped doing what I thought I should be doing and started doing what actually lit me up: helping high-achievers learn about their natural abilities + creating marketing strategies that introduce customers to their new 🫧favorite🫧 products.

Today, I share my bold takes on business, marketing, psychology and AI for your edu-tainment.

It’s tea time you guys.

Here’s a REAL story from a brand we took on recently.

Their previous agency was running ads… but when we audited the account, we found 95% of their ad spend was going to returning customers. 😮

So, they hired this agency to help them grow, but instead ended up paying thousands every month just to show ads to people who were already going to buy anyway. 💸💸

That’s already bad news bears, but the REAL criminal offense here is that this same agency charged them for email flows that only trigger when new customers come in…

But since no budget was going to acquisition, those flows barely fired.

The brand thought they were saving money by going with a cheaper overseas agency. But instead, they wasted way more than they would have spent hiring someone mid-priced to do it right the first time. (Like... my agency 👋 @bloomdigital.agency )

👉 Lesson: Always audit where your ad dollars are actually going. If 90%+ of your spend is retargeting, you’re not paying for growth, you’re paying for vanity metrics from an agency scared to tell you the real deal. by @daniellehixenbaugh

Is it possible for a product to be TOO good? 😳 If your customers never need to buy again… how do you grow?

Constantly chasing new customers is a sure-fire way to stress your marketing team TF out.

Avid Versa Gripps fan girl here - I bought mine in 2015... it’s 2025 and they’re still going strong. Amazing for me, nightmare for their LTV.

So it got me thinking... if I were leading their marketing, how would I solve this?

👉 If your flagship product isn’t built for repeat purchases, you need to expand the ecosystem.

🤌Add complementary gear (belts, bags, recovery tools) that ALSO solves a gym annoyance.
🤌Create consumables (chalk alternatives)
🤌Build community + content (training app, programs)

I’d sell belonging to the brand. That’s how you keep customers spending even when your hero product is indestructible.

NGL, I haven’t stopped think about their biscuits since making this 🧈🍞

But the new logo made @crackerbarrel completely unrecognizable. I’m happy they reverted back.

This marketing fail ended up giving them their biggest boost since the 90s 🤷🏼‍♀️

Reality Check: Shipping isn’t free. Jeff Bezos just tricked you into thinking it is.

And now bc customers expect free shipping, a ton of brands are slapping apps like Onward and Route onto checkout to “protect” shipments… and customers HATE it. Nothing kills CVR faster than a surprise $4.95 fee when they’re ready to buy. 🏃‍♂️💨

BUT… shipping protection can work if you set expectations right. Some brands actually see better margins + happier customers because it builds trust when handled transparently.

Here’s how:
✨ Don’t tack it on at the end as a “gotcha.”
✨ Test thresholds or bake it into product pricing.
✨ Position it as a benefit (“peace of mind for your order”) instead of a random line item.

Bottom line: free shipping was never free, but if you’re smart about how you frame it, your customers will pay for peace of mind without rage-quitting your checkout.

The tariffs got hands, but so do we. 💁‍♀️

Tariffs are slapping businesses left and right and it’s not just the cost of goods that’s going up. The whole game is changing.

You’re about to see brands raise prices, discount less, and actually start feeling less expensive to customers who are used to paying more. Get ready for the turbulence. We’re not out of the storm yet.

And yes, that soundtrack is bringing back girl group vibes. It’s my calming music.

Guess the 2000s anthem that’s playing in the background, comment below. 👀💃

Apparently, all you need to make $500K is a PDF, a Stripe screenshot, and the confidence of someone who just discovered funnels and hasn’t touched grass since.

In today’s episode of ‘This Feels Illegal But Okay,’ I break down why selling a $37 ebook does not make you a mogul and why 99% of the people flexing passive income are actually selling the dream, not the product.

Oh, and wait for the end when I fully morph into a funnel bro with 7 VSLs and a countdown timer that resets every time you breathe.

Drop a 🧃 if you’ve ever almost bought one of these “one PDF changed my life” courses. No shame, we’ve all been there.

OK- I CAN sell your crappy product. I just don’t *want* to…

GREAT marketing doesn’t just sell—it creates movements. Apple wasn’t just selling computers; they sold a vision of creativity, innovation, and rebellion against the status quo. THAT’S why people lined up for iPhones before even knowing the specs.

But here’s where brands get it twisted: Marketing CAN expose a bad product. If your product is garbage, the more people see it, the faster it flops. 🫠

The solution? Stop treating marketing as a band-aid. Start with an exceptional product, and let marketing amplify what already works.

@brenebrown - your initiative is finally making its way into mainstream media 👌

When you think about leadership, what do you imagine? What words, qualities or people come to mind?

For too long, leadership was about control, authority, and dominance. But the real game-changers? They understand that emotional intelligence, collaboration, and culture-building aren’t “soft skills”—they’re necessary skills.

🌟 Who’s leading this shift?
✔️ Danielle Nunes @daniellenunes.ceo
✔️ Alex Cooper @alexandracooper
✔️ Every woman rewriting the leadership playbook

The problem? We still don’t have enough female leaders to look up to. Which makes it easy to feel like we need to lead like men—because that’s all we’ve seen.

But the best leaders? They lead their own way.

🧬It’s not about men vs. women. It’s about balance.

Most clicked reel cover ever…I’ve been using AI for 1.5 years to improve processes and optimize our team operations… and while it’s made HUGE progress forward, I’m noticing something weird…. 🤔

Why does it keep taking off my clothes or giving me extra… ahem… melons 🍈?

For some reason, it seems like men tend to adopt technologies faster than women 🧬

🤖And for AI, it REALLY shows which gender may be influencing it the most…

Which is why I was SO excited that @_iraurati Mira Murati - @openai ‘s ex- CTO launching Thinking Machine Lab @thinkingmachineslab ….

This isn’t about men vs women.

This is about ladies stepping up and embracing technology at the same rate our male counterparts do so we can ensure representation. by @daniellehixenbaugh

I genuinely wanted to be drinking the Russell Kool Aid… I was a willing participant. But instead? I got drenched with a fire hose, and I’m calling bullsh*t.

I finally gave in and went to a Russell Brunson conference…

Three days. Nine-hour sessions. A working lunch break. And what did I get?

	•	90% was old clips from past conferences.
	•	9% was his fans hyping him up.
	•	1% (IF that) was actual useful marketing advice.

And let’s talk about what was missing—not one mention of article intelligence... AI is changing everything in marketing, and yet Russell’s big secret strategy? A $40,000 digital course that they so kindly discount to $1,000.

I’ve been told for YEARS that Russell Brunson is the GOAT of marketing, and I finally caved.

And now? I need to invoice him for the 12 hours I wasted. (After 12 hours of getting 20 minutes of info, I used @chatgpt ‘a deep research function to get the info I needed)

💬 Have YOU ever been scammed by an overhyped conference? Drop your worst experience below.

PS - it genuinely pains me to tag @russellbrunson in this post, seems like a good, intelligent person. But this conference missed the mark. by @daniellehixenbaugh

How are you about to be mad at IKEA for testing out a new play? Don’t hate the player….

We’ve had smartphones for how long now? If a push notification wakes you up in the middle of the night, that’s a you problem, not a marketing problem.

What IKEA did wasn’t random. It was strategic. Impulse buying peaks at night, especially for people doom-scrolling on their phones while half-asleep.

The science backs it up:

🧠 Studies show that people are more likely to make impulsive purchases when they’re tired. Their decision-making filters are lower, and their desire for instant gratification spikes.

Uh, hello, they’re sleepless. They’ll do anything to feel better.

Plus, for those who wake up and see the message in the morning? It’s like getting a late-night text from your crush—but make it your favorite home store.

This is what happens when a brand actually understands human behavior instead of just running another bland ad.

💬 What do you think—marketing genius or a PR fail? Let’s debate. 👇 by @daniellehixenbaugh
