Dear dad,

I am so grateful for everything. For all you sacrificed to help me achieve my goals. The lessons you taught me of how to show support, love others, and be someone others can depend on. I’m thankful for the thousands of miles we put on the road together, never saying too much but always enjoying each other’s company. I’m thankful that you were always ready to listen, and although you didn’t always give me a response, I left these conversations wiser than when I showed up. I’m grateful for you always being willing to come to my games and cheer me on from the stands. And how you never were scared to tell the reff if they made a bad call. I appreciate how you showed me through actions that there is always a way to help others no matter how big or how small. I’m thankful that you showed me how everyone deserves grace and forgiveness because we were shown grace and forgiveness first. There are many other things I could thank you for, like you laughing at my jokes caused me to consider becoming a comedian or you giving me training ideas for volleyball or joining me on my random adventure but what I am most grateful for is you being a man of God. For showing me what it means to live for Christ with everything. For always answering my questions and being honest with me even though it hurt sometimes. Dad, I am so grateful for the example you were to me and everyone else. I am so so thankful that God gave me you. I miss you so much but I’ll see you again.
