career day in zoey’s kindergarten class! i told them the stories of how her great grandparents and grandparents met and asked them how they would help two people become friends. they said that maybe two kind people would want to be friends, but also maybe two people with the same favorite color👍 i had them exchange heart stickers to learn how to spread love ❤️❤️❤️ adorable! by @danielleselber

most fun ever - fulfilling my forever dream of telling a story on stage at @mothstories !!!!!📍punchlinephilly with host @oureric & beautiful friends cheering me on. i got second place ! by @danielleselber

“It’s the only way I have learned to express myself - through other people’s descriptions of life.”

Photos from the Pop Punk Sing-Along Sept. 27th with Kat Siciliano taken by our friends at DVAA. 15 songs and all of them were equally as fun to play and it’s just such a great time when people immediately jump in and start singing with us. Or when we get them to shout the phrase Let’s Get Fucked Up And Die! even if they’ve never heard of Motion City Soundtrack.

Thanks once again to @nikintechnicolor for guest singing on Holiday, @ryan_yingst for making us sound great, @samanthamconnors and the @davinciartalliance team for being awesome partners. We can’t wait to come back and play more music in the space.

8.31 is National Matchmaker Day! 🎉

Plot twist: in 2025, dating apps saw their first-ever revenue decline, dropping over 1%. Meanwhile, matchmaking kept growing.

People aren’t giving up on finding love. They’re giving up on doing it alone, in the dark, one swipe at a time.

So today I’m celebrating every matchmaker who’s out here proving that real connection can benefit from a real human behind it.

Huge shoutout to the matchmakers who’ve inspired and uplifted me along the way. If you’re not in the photos, it’s not personal, I just wanted to share a few faces. Love all of Cupids & yentas 💕 by @danielleselber

i have always been a writer and this year i am telling those stories on stage! if you enjoy storytelling come see me and other brilliant & talented people at these three shows:

august 20th at @strangelovesphilly - the first ever @queer.to.tell philly show! the theme is “there’s no place like home”. i am telling a story about how the walls of a home expand when the family inside it changes shape. especially excited to share the stage with @charles_rblack!

september 19th at @hallpasshallpasshallpass - fringe festival is my entire personality so this is VERY EXCITING!! i am in @phillyqueerstorytellers @fringearts show!!! the theme is “love sex and philadelphia” and i will be telling a story which asks where love goes when the container that held it is gone.

october 23rd at @atmyhou.se - @storysalon.phl hosts a monthly series (@sanjanabanana is telling a story at the august one!!) october’s theme is “haunted”. i’ll be telling a story about how you grieve someone who doesn’t exist and maybe never did.

ticket links in bio! (october is a save the date for now) by @danielleselber

We are excited to begin introducing the storytellers for Love, Sex, and Philadelphia which is our first Philadelphia Fringe Festival appearance. Please welcome Danielle!

Danielle Selber (she/her) is a Philly-based matchmaker specializing in Jewish and LGBTQIA+ communities. Equal parts hopeless romantic and theology nerd, Danielle tells stories and writes poetry about love and other holy things. She has performed with Patchwork Storytelling Guild and the Hamantaschen Monologues and is thrilled to be making her Fringe debut.

We hope you will join Danielle and our amazing lineup of storytellers on September 19th. Tickets go on sale for all Fringe Shows this Friday (please note this is a different date than originally posted!). by @danielleselber

Our Pride Month series continues with Danielle Selber, Little Gay Book’s Jewish Community Lead and Matchmaker.

In this video, Danielle talks about something that isn’t discussed enough: how Pride can bring a deep sense of connection for some people while leaving others feeling lonely or on the outside looking in.

Her message is a heartfelt reminder that Pride isn’t just about parades or parties. It’s also for those who are finding themselves, healing, building community, or taking their next step forward.

No matter where you are in your journey, you belong. Happy Pride. ❤️

it’s my 41st bday🎂 so naturally i am sharing (bc i forgot to last year) the story of my perfect 40th, when i invited everyone i love to a shorehouse weekend and serendipitously, 40 friends from across every season of my life showed up ♥️ the requested “gift” was that everyone contribute something to the weekend’s festivities so there was a charcuterie happy hour, group zumba class, homemade baked goods, an epic multi-round me-trivia game, tarot readings, a knife loving placed beneath my pillow, kosher bbq, an egg sandwich procured via ten mile run, letters poems and playlists delivered seaside, one magic gift for later, a comically large sheet cake and one giant wall calendar to rule them all. when i looked around the jacuzzi at midnight and saw people from childhood through friends i had made just that year i felt whole. it was world colliding and deeply moving and ridiculously fun and it set the tone for what turned out to be my best year yet. let’s see what 41 has in store🎉☀️💕 by @danielleselber

What were you like in the 90s? 👀💿 We asked the Little Gay Book team to dig up their 90s photos and… let’s just say, the looks were iconic and the vibes were unmatched 💕 From throwback fits to childhood memories, this one’s too good not to share.

Now we want to know, what were YOU up to back then? 😄 Share in the comments!
