Hi! If you’re new here, I’m Danielle, a 41-year-old mama who married my best friend 6 years ago. 🤍

We used to live in sunny SoCal, but we sold most of our belongings and rented out our home to slow travel the world with our daughter.

We spent the first half of our travels exploring Europe and Southeast Asia. Now that we have our pup, Toby, back with us 🐾, we are spending some more time in Europe!

Our plan is to head to the States in October to base ourselves in Colorado for a while.

Fun twist in our journey: we actually set off to find our dream B&B and almost put an offer on a place in Axat, France! However, we quickly realized we aren’t quite ready for that chapter just yet. Ultimately, we want to be based closer to family while still traveling about half the year with our daughter.

Meet the Bovets: Danielle, Colin, 5 year old Elodie, and Toby, their Maltipoo rescue dog.

Since leaving Southern California in early 2025, they’ve been worldschooling their way through Asia and Europe, finding friends in one place and reconnecting with them in the next. From Thailand to Sri Lanka to Vietnam and now to Europe!

We actually met this lovely family by chance at a rooftop pool in Chiang Mai, after a few hours of chats between the parents with the kids playing together, our son went to bed soundly that night wearing his new best friend Elodie’s goggles. Travel kids bond QUICK.

Colin runs a remote digital marketing agency, which helps make life on the road possible for them, and these days, the family is travelling slowly, planning around hubs, work calls, Elodie’s friendships, and Toby too. Danielle has immersed herself in the social side of this life, and now runs monthly calls for worldschooling mums to connect.

Next up for them: a driving tour through Western Europe, with stops at @naturallyricher in the Algarve, @shepsrest in Spain, and Puy Saint Vincent in France.

We explored Carcassonne, Bordeaux, and Paris with Colin’s parents for the first half of October last year. This was when we first started full time travel. Such a treat to have Colin’s parents join us!

I’m feeling so grateful for the friends we’ve made since starting our European journey in April.

While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, I know these are the kinds of friendships you share life with forever. There is something so special about surrounding yourself with people who see you and just get you.

Happy 6th wedding anniversary to my true love!! I love you beyond words ❤️

6 years married, almost 10 years together! 🥺 18 months full time traveling with our little family!!

We agreed early that presents stress us both out so no presents… this morning Colin proudly gave me olives and feta cheese from Apolonia (if you know you know) gahhhhh best hubby ever 😍

Last night, Colin organized a pasta-making workshop at the worldschooling hub we are at.

He did such a wonderful job putting it all together, and the kids had a blast!

Today we took an adventure with some wonderful friends we met through worldschooling!

We spent 3 hours out on the boat, and it did not disappoint.

Seeing how happy E was watching them swim wild and free made every second worth it. I will pick this over a trip to the zoo any day!

Last year, when we first landed in Bangkok, Thailand, Colin and I were sooo tired and jet-lagged. We ordered Elodie anapple juice, and this is what showed up! 🤣 We laughed so hard. We thought something must have gotten lost in translation. We asked for a small apple juice, and a huge, neon, blended smoothie showed up instead! Since we had no way to communicate, we didn’t let Elodie have any… to this day, we still have no idea if there was alcohol in it! What do you think?? Was there alcohol? 👇

While staying in Noja, Spain, we took a day trip to Santander and were so amazed by how many people DMed us saying they have friends or family living in the area!

What a small freaking world.

I will never understand how my daughter can go from “you’re the worst parents ever for making me scooter all over Madrid” to eating cookies at a coffee shop after a tuk-tuk ride and telling Colin and me how lovely we are as parents. 🫠😂😂

Anyone else experienced this level of emotional whiplash?
