Dear Facebook Friends,
The last two weeks have been very busy, not unusual for me. First, I attended the National Dance Education Organization Annual Conference in Denver Colorado. Always a wonderful event where we see friends and colleagues, we have not seen all year. Lots of hugs and conversations. I had a table as a vendor, did a presentation the first day on “Being in the Right Place at the Right Time with the Right Talent”. I sold a lot of my Bio “Daniel Lewis, A Life in Choreography and the Art of Dance” and lots of my technique book, “The Illustrated Dance Technique of José Limón” which is in 5 languages, English, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean, and about to come out in Chinese this year.
Next, I doubled booked myself with the “Daniel Lewis Dance Sampler in Naples on Friday and in Miami on Saturday and Sunday. At the same time, I was producing with the help of other board members the “Day of Development” for the Florida Dance Education Organization, at the University of Tampa. I would be giving the lecture I did in Colorado and teaching a class to teachers. I did manage to see the dress rehearsal in Napes at the Artis-Naples Hayes Hall, did my lecture and class the next day in Tampa and drove back to Miami for the Sunday matinee. A really great show. All performances were sold out.
I will end it here, as I have to speak on Zoom about Myron Nadel in about an hour. I will report on my next trip, Next week to Gainesville to I speak before a performance of the Limón Company at Santa Fe Community College with Dante Puleio and giving a lecture about teaching to the students at the University of Florida. I have posted some photos in no particular order. No time to tag everyone, I will try some Tags tonight after my Zoom. If you see your-self feel free to tag. I love being retired. Enjoy your day.

Hurricane Irma. We lost power at 7:28 am. The generator kicked in at 7:29. Everything is working. Winds are at 80 mph, should get to 120 today. All important paper work is covered in plastic and in boxes. We are taking some photos and movies through storm resistant windows. We are hoping that all who are effected by Irma are OK by @daniellewisdance

Yesterday was a day with Ailey. Saw both the Matinee and Evening performances. The company looks great, the repertory is excellent and the Ailey company has reached new heights. Photo with Maureen O'Rourke, Daniel Lewis, Bobby Battle and Jamar Roberts. The photo was taken at the barbecue, on the loading dock between the performances. taken in Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts by @daniellewisdance

I was dancing in my seat as I watched Jose Limon's Concerto Grosso at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center last night. Thank you Eric for bringing the company to Miami. This was a wonderful program. Congratulations to NWSA graduate Leon Cobb for his wonderful performance with the company!
