Coming out of incubation ❤️

Yesterday I was telling a friend of mine about the amount of time I’ve spent researching, learning and talking with experts (more on that soon) for the novel I’m working on and I finally feel like I’m coming out of my incubation to now write my current literary fiction WIP. And he literally started singing “coming out of my cage, and I’ve been doing just fine…” and that made me laugh really hard and will be my current walk up song when I sit at my desk and write. Currently at 3,882 words written, only 86,118 to go! 😂

Something I’ve been learning this year: the ordinary days aren’t standing in the way of my life. They ARE my life. by @daniellewraith

Some of the most precious things I own are little scraps of paper that would mean nothing to anyone else.

Today’s poem, The Things I Keep, is from my collection of poems about motherhood. A little love letter to the things our children place in our hands. 🤍

Fear as a Grocery List - A poem about the fierce we carry in our pockets, and how so much of what frightened us is simply love looking for somewhere safe to land. by @daniellewraith

The Shore by Heart. A poem about returning to what matters, even when returning asks something new of you. by @daniellewraith

I love the idea that we carry little pieces of the people we’ve known, sometimes long after they’ve left our lives.

The songs they introduced us to, the expressions we picked up from them, the ways they taught us to see the world. And I love thinking that somewhere, someone might be carrying a little piece of us, too.

This week’s Sunday Edition is about the invisible ways we shape one another, the relationships that stay with us even after they’ve ended, and the beautiful possibility that we’ve mattered to people in ways we’ll never know.

AGAIN. 💫 A poem about reading the same bedtime story for the hundredth time, and knowing someday you’d give anything to be asked once more. by @daniellewraith
