🧦 ❄️ We are staying cozy here in Munich. Even in the gym! Welcome to our winter wonderland! As many of you have noticed, Munich has been more or less snowed in. This does not happen too often. Germans particularly in this region are pretty robust to snow and we just carry on. On Saturday there was a recommendation to stay home. We had just inches and inches of snow! It was magical and fun and games on the weekend…we made apple crumble, went sledding, and played games.
On Monday reality set in and it was hard to be productive. The signs are everywhere telling us all to slow down. My crazy ass couldn’t miss leg day. 🤣 It is a real effort at the moment Friends. My commitment is super on point but my energy is dwindling. I feel myself wanting to build an igloo and fall asleep and wake up when winter ends. No can do! I will make it an effort to slow down where I can. It’s important to follow the seasons and adapt to your climate. It is now a time of reflection and gratitude. We have some major news to share with you soon. For now let us embrace the calm before the blossoming of spring! How are you feeling? How are you staying motivated? 👻 Wrinkly flat belly button attack! My belly button is probably my biggest insecurity at the moment. At least this one was well earned and compensated for. I have 3 healthy children and I am torn between loving my new belly and still struggling to get used to it... and that’s OK. You don’t have to 100% pick a side. We are in this period where people are being made to feel ashamed of how they feel. Honestly, my tummy was one of my favorite parts of my body after I lost 100 pounds. Actually, the belly already got pretty stretched out before the kids. I did carry a good deal of extra weight in the midsection. So technically it’s been stretched 4 times. I am in a phase of not knowing whether to just accept it, love it or fix it. I and the opinion of others think a tummy tuck is an invasive and extreme way for my situation. I may have to agree. For now, I am happy to say the strength of my abdominal muscles is impressive considering all they have been through but I would like to focus more on functional forms of training and see where things go. No matter how much training or weightloss, loose skin will not budge and actually the more weight you lose the worse it gets. I am exploring the idea of micro needling but costs can be high and I am not sure if I would rather just suck it up and learn to love my new stomach fully. Some days I feel more confident than others. I do really miss having a round belly button but life comes with sacrifices. This was a very small price for my 3 wonderful children. #mummytummy #bodyconfidenceisajourney

Also, if you have had a child you are forever in a state of postpartum. It doesn’t end after a matter of weeks, months, or years. It’s forever. Not only your body is permanently changed but your heart, your brain as seen in MRI’s, and your spirit. 🙏🏻

🩺 One month into nursing school, and there are already so many little things that make me happy: practicing real skills, learning things I can imagine using with patients, and finding lovely people in my class who make the long days better. I love when all the new words and information start to click and feel connected to real care. I’m still at the beginning, the days and commutes are long. But well worth it. The German remains the hardest. I love how little space they give me to write in my exams when they know German words are one mile long. 🤣

🖼️ My last trip to Vienna…for a while… before my life changes forever. I will be rather busy in the next year. With my nursing school being 5 days a week, 8 hours a day plus homework and clinicals. Squeezing in a 4 day weekend trip with friends will become increasingly difficult. Not impossible but tricky. I am really grateful to have the opportunity to visit this peaceful city so many times. We all need a place we can breathe a little. I am also someone who is easily bored so the city has a lot to offer. I have been in many museums here include the now the @kunsthistorischesmuseumvienna kunsthistorischesmuseumvienna and also the @nhmwien. My science brain prefers the natural history museum a bit more of course but I was very lucky to go inside and spent quite a few hours in both now. I will be back! But perhaps a very different person. 🫀🏥 by @daniellezavalagram

🇫🇷 Let’s bring back Candid Instagram again. No perfection. Just a mom on holiday.Today we went to Nîmes. I was thinking about how much I wanted to go on a trip with my high school friends but my family wasn’t able to finance me to go. The year before I worked at a Hawaiian bbq restaurant to finance a trip to Germany in the summer. When I was about 17. I was too swamped with school and struggling a lot to keep up my senior year so I could not finance myself the trip with my friends. As hard as life in Germany is and it IS! 🤪 I have always wanted to see the world and my soul feels very at home In Europe. I struggle ALOT. I learned a hard language to a high level, I will study nursing in that language this fall, I raised my children completely without help. I am happy to collect experiences. That makes me feel very rich in life. Grateful and the sacrifices I make to resume this life are well paid off. 🧳 I don’t like to be in one place to long. I need to breathe.
