One of my favorite things about photography is collaborating with people who truly embrace creativity, and every session with this incredible hat designer is exactly that. He’s been one of my very first clients, and over the years he’s continued to trust me with bringing his vision to life through new concepts, bold lighting, thoughtful composition, and storytelling. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities he’s created that allow me to keep growing as an artist, push my creative boundaries, and scratch that creative itch every time we shoot. Thank you for believing in my work—I’m already looking forward to the next idea we bring to life together. 📸 Model – @la_sombra_hatter @ahziabrown Assistant – @byjennifernicole @anthonyguajardo 📷 Camera & Lens 📸 • Camera: Sony A7(4) • Lens: Sony GM2 24-70 • Aperture: 4-11 • Shutter Speed: 250 • ISO: 400-1600 ⚡ Lighting ⚡ • Light: @flashpointlighting Xplor 400 Pro, Flashpoint Evolv 200 Proii, Flashpoint Xplor 100 Pro • Modifier: @cheetahstand QSB-34, 65’’ Pebble deep Umbrella, cheetahstand Q9x35 strip box, Cheetahstand Q12x55 strip box @westcottlighting easy boom arm • Light Position: 2 accent lights were barebulb with MagMod CTO & red gels. “The series explores emotional waiting and unresolved absence. I designed the environment to feel suspended in time — a woman alone in a deteriorating space, surrounded by the belongings and memories of someone who may or may not return. The warm practical light symbolizes hope and memory, while the surrounding darkness and decay reflect uncertainty, loneliness, and emotional erosion. The corded phone becomes a visual tether to possibility, and the cello serves almost as a silent stand-in for the absent figure in her life. Rather than photographing sadness directly, I wanted the lighting, atmosphere, and staging to create emotional tension between longing, resilience, and abandonment.” ------------------ IN FRAME: @jennidoll Hat Design - @ala_ancha_hat_co ------------------ LIGHTING: @flashpointlighting -Xplor 400 Pro ii /Key -eVolv 200 Pro ii /Fill -Xplor 100 Pro /Rim. -Xplor 100 Pro / Inside practical Light -Xplor 100 Pro / Background Accent Light. - ------------------ MODIFIER: @westcottlighting , @magnetmod -manny Ortiz beauty dish /Key -Rapid Box Switch Octa-L /Fill -Westcott Rapid Box Switch 1x3/Rim -Practical Light/ Magmod CTO gel -Backgrnd Accent Light/magmod CTO Gel ------------------- Camera: Sony a7iv Lens: Sony 24-70mm&12-24 F2.8 Shutter Speed: 1/160-1/200 ISO: 100-200 Aperture: F7-F9 #ofc #iso1200 #godox #magmod #westcottlighting by @danielramero

Día de los Muertos is a time to honor and remember the loved ones we’ve lost. While the colors and details catch your eye, the meaning runs so much deeper—it’s about celebrating love and memories that live on This year, I handcrafted every single element of this set and look as a special ofrenda to honor my mom, who passed away when I was a child. 🕊️🕯️ A little creativity, a little culture, and a whole lot of heart. 🌹✨ Thank you my love for helping me bring this vision to life! @danielramero Rentals that helped bring this vision to life: Floor brass candlesticks Brass candlesticks Cobra peacock chair Runner rug #explore #vintagerentals #sanantonio by @danielramero

We all have idle time, whether we’re at work or at home, and it’s up 2 us to use that time wisely by learning, practicing, & honing in on our craft, whatever that may be. For me, my passion is photography. I believe whole heartedly U can only get better at what u do if ur willing to invest the time, put in the work, & stay consistent, because growth doesn’t happen by itself. by @danielramero
Y’all, Westcott did something with this one. 🔥 Introducing the NEW Westcott Rapid Box Switch Fold-Flat Softboxes! U know what I love? Gear that makes our lives easier without sacrificing the quality of light. The new Rapid Box Switch gives u beautiful light, but now it packs flat. And the best part? It opens up to full size in about a second. No fighting with ur modifier. No wasting time setting up. Just get it open, get ur light in place, and get to creating. It also comes with a grid and Bowens insert, so u have even more control over how u shape ur light. For those of us who love off-camera flash, this is definitely something worth checking out. Beautiful light. Less setup. More creating. 🔥 Nine sizes to choose from, so pick what u need, For portraits and events where efficiency is key! Have questions about the new lineup? Send me a DM! I’m always happy to talk lighting gear! If you act now I got a surprise for u. I had the opportunity to host a portrait class at my home, showing some local photographers different lighting techniques using entirely Westcott gear. I was very selective with the lights and modifiers I chose because I love the quality of light Westcott produces. Each modifier served a purpose in helping me sculpt light, create depth, add separation, and bring dimension to the portraits. For the star of the night… my key light, I used the 36-inch Manny Ortiz Switch Beauty Dish, which I love for the specularity it produces. I’ve had cheetahstand, glow and angler softboxes and by far this softbox is my favorite. I also have control over the inner dish-plate allowing me to adjust how concentrated the light is and create a more sculpted look on my subject. I paired the fill and rim lights with Westcott modifiers to help shape the light, create separation from the background, and add dimension to the portraits. The accent light helped bring additional depth and interest to the scene. Combining these modifiers with the Westcott lights allowed me to shape the light exactly how I wanted, creating depth, dimension, and separation while keeping the portraits visually engaging. If you’re interested in learning more about off-camera flash, lighting techniques, or you’re unsure what gear to choose for your first purchase, DM me! While visiting the great sand dunes my wife & i decided 2 do a photo shoot on our hike up the dunes. We packed all our gear ready to kickass!! Issue once we got pretty high on those dunes… that wind does NOT give a crap what ur intentions are. It’s gonna fight u the entire time. we realized quickly softboxes werent gonna happen. We ended up shooting bare bulb for the entire shoot. this quickly became a really good refresher lesson in learning the limitations of our equipment & really putting inverse square law 2 the test. we used 2 Westcott FJ200s, bare bulb & a variable nd filter which ended up being a lifesaver. I thought the FJ200 were not going to hang in that crazy heat but they worked flawlessly the entire shoot!!! I was able 2 bring my shutter speed back down within my camera’s sync speed & because I was staying within sync speed, I could actually use the full power of those FJ200s(of coarse bare bulb which I’m personally not a fan of) Sometimes it’s not about having the most powerful light. It’s about understanding what ur equipment can actually do under the conditions ur working in. Because the wind took away our modifiers & the location limited our options. (No shade to hide under) for me, thats probably 1 of the biggest lessons ive learned as a photographer. Know ur gear & especially its limitations & when the situation changes, learn to change with them !!! if your new to flash camera photography and not sure what route to take pm and I’ll get u right. Also link in bio if your seriously considering off camera flash. I’ll get you 10% off your purchase with Westcott gear and trust me…. They don’t disappoint !!!
