“Gonna be hot anyway, might as well be fresh.”

That has been the mindset the past weeks with the insane heat in Nashville: Be fresh, stay inside, shed layers outside.

But now, the heat wave has passed. Temperatures have cooled down, I’m even wearing a light scarf today. It’s officially autumn.

Temperatures are not quite in the 60s or even 70s in Nashville yet. But the days are shorter and, for better or worse, it’s real dressing season.

Anyways, here’s what I’ve been wearing over the past few weeks.

Though we’ve never met, I’ve admired Daniel’s work from a distance. What’s always struck me is his precision, an instinct for layering, texture, and color that’s razor-sharp in his style choices, and a way of capturing portraiture that feels both rich and restrained. Every detail is considered, yet never overworked.

Instinctual, bold, and deeply shaped by his Congolese roots, Daniel’s eye for style and portraiture carries both candor and precision. From an early love of dressing well to a cultural pride that embraces honesty over restraint, his work reflects a life of looking closely and living directly.

@thelostreserve is a perfectly named vintage shop in Jackson, TN. Great curation, interesting bits, and colorful stories; it is everything you want out of a vintage shop.

We were allowed to dig into the goods on a closed day. It was magical.

To me, real luxury comes down to short lines and “100%”s on fabric composition tags. The fewer the words on that tag, the more luxurious the garment.

With the popularization synthetics, this luxury has become harder to find in trench coat designs. Especially when you also want the coat to do its job of keeping you dry.

@americantrench pulled it off though: A-line silhouette, horn buttons, raglan sleeves, made in USA.

And yes, water beads off it. What more could you ask for?
