Sometimes one of your favourite cosplayers is doing sketches on Twitch and you think "That's too unique a piece of internet ephemera not to have," so you ask for "Catra knocked the glass off the table and isn't sorry." And maybe @dajackies hadn't actually seen She-Ra yet (which @halcybella thinks she should) but still knocks it out of the park.

In order: 1) Person I'm Most Likely To Watch at the Pub Once Work Is Done; 2) Show I Put On Before Bed; 3) Same as #1 but less often because she's writing a book, give her space; 4) Honest Trailers; 5) Perfect to watch through a morning workout by @daniforth

These posts now drift from "updates" to "melancholy nostalgia" as the long trip home awaits, but enjoy these pics from the quiet island of Amorgos, where I dipped my feet in the Aegean and we found a lovely little botanical garden with orange trees and meandering doves, a wonderful place to while away part of an afternoon before retreating to the pool.

I had to assure Mom that due to my inability to speak, read, or write Greek I was not in fact planning to move here. taken in Amorgos , Cyclades-Greece by @daniforth

At the Heraklion archeological museum.
Some highlights:

4. Minoan vases always have two openings, so pants made good vases

5&6. The apparently iconic bee pendant

8. A model of the Minoan palace we'd just visited, back in its glory days

9. Ancient board game, rules sadly misplaced

11. The currency was these bronze models of ox skins

12. The bull jumping game

13. A model of the jumper

14. Axe heads called labys (maybe spelled right?) That helped inspire the name "labyrinth"

16. Jars made adequate coffins

19. The Parisian. Someone recreated this ancient artwork and decided the lady that predates Paris seemed French. taken in Heraklion Archaeological Museum by @daniforth

A morning in Knossos, capital of what we call the Minoans. What did they call themselves? No one has known for millenia.

1-2) Arriving at the ruins
3) Some writing remains in the rocks
4) Before there were rules about this, the first modern(ish) excavator did some reconstruction
5) Minoan pottery
6) Inside the palace
7) Further reconstruction
8) A mural depicting the bull-jumping game that may have helped get those Minotaur stories going
9) More exteriors
10) A recreation of the throne room
11) The actual throne room
12) The walls are mostly legit, columns less so
13-16) More palace
