the seaside mug 🌊
I believe this is the most well crafted mug I have made to date. I threw it, trimmed it, pulled a handle, and glazed it. I dipped it in a sandy matte glaze and then in matte turquoise and feel it looks like a wave washing over the shore.
now that it has been gifted to its owner, I can share!

Stone walls ⚔️🪸🌿
For @magiccastlehollywood ‘s 2024 halloween season Pirates, @makeupwagner and I teamed up for the staircase decor on top of everything else we were doing.
I was super happy because my first three years of doing Boo Crew centered around my learning from and collaborating specifically with Rachael. This felt like a return to those years, especially 2018’s Murder Mansion when she and I carved stone walls for the cellar.

We always start by getting and checking measurements in the space, getting wood flats cut with support of maintenance, and then using expanding foam to adhere dense foam for carving to the flats. We used a whole heap of foam blocks of different shapes and sizes and arranged them horizontally to mimic the style of stone we wanted, then used a drill with a steel brush tip to carve away chunks, and hot wires and hot knives for detail. Throughout the process we would haul the flats back in to confirm the fit and ability to install them (we are pros at this point!)

Very proud to say Rachael and I carved literally all of these walls together, it was a pretty unreal amount of work, and so worth the payoff.
One build day, we had a ton of volunteers come in and they helped with layers of paint and dressing the walls in seaweed.

2nd year of my clinical mental health counseling & art therapy program completed last week 🌷
I have felt so inspired by my the work of my peers and the folks I’ve had the honor of working with and their positive feedback of my approach and would likely not continue in school without those areas of light guiding me.

Artmaking is always with me, my friends are here, I’m immersing myself in shows, it feels like I can actually make it through this program - one year left including a thesis.

I wish my school did not have such a corrupt administration, I wish everyone could go to college if they wanted to and get paid for their occupation as a student instead of incurring massive life-altering debt, I wish programs did not ask that you sacrifice portions of your health to meet their expectations of performance, I wish it were safe for everyone to go college if they wanted to, I wish that no universities in Palestine had been destroyed instead of all of them.

Here’s hoping that there is always a chance to transmute the world through action much like we transform space with the engagement of materials. Showing up for your friends, mutual aid, inconveniencing yourself to show you care creates a cascading transformational effect you can count on.

I recorded the entire transfer and carving process of the @triangle.fire stamp back in March of 2024.
I was revisiting the videos and considered editing them into a long process video, and maybe I’ll still do that one day… for now, I just wanted to share a moment from a cherished day.
Maybe a month prior I sent Rob some sketches offering a design, I took his notes and he even drew the “g” which I think is the best part.
Under the encouraging glow of robs Miffy lamp, the stamp was carved and used for the first time. I remember he was so stoked he took it into the next room and stamped his bass drum hahaha. I didn’t think it looked good enough yet to be used on something so important, but clearly he did.

“Got yer heart broken, kid?”

I was inspired by the feeling this @dinosaurjr song gives me. (They’re from Massachusetts, you know)

I don’t have experience with animation so this took a long time to figure out.
I’m glad to have finally made some art that isn’t for school.

Studio Art Therapy class is done, in my top 3 fav classes of my program so far.
Made a body of work that started with taking my glasses off and painting what i felt, and ended with making a stained glass lens for examining rippling details that I painted from memory.
I recorded some melodica inspired by the sense of exploration through the glass. by @danihallart
