Tomorrow we are sharing BICHO for the first time at @projekttheaterdresden in Dresden Friday 25th at 6pm Saturday 26th at 8pm Material from the rehearsal process. We are so grateful to be working with @ts.tokiudon @daniloandrestrauko @ccatnapp @ailaviu @ntlhosie @shot.behind.walmart When does a device cease to be a tool and begin to behave like a parasite, an external organ, or a creature? Who is holding whom in this relationship? In BICHO, performers encounter a robotic creature that can be attached to their bodies by sucking their skin. The device, specially designed to embrace the body, move with it, and resist it. Post-Organic Bauplan’s machines are built to create situations of encounter: strange, intimate, playful, erotic. Against a technological culture increasingly shaped by automation, optimization, surveillance, and control, BICHO proposes another imaginary: one in which machines are not made to make bodies more efficient, but to enter into strange and intimate relationships with them. A robotic counterculture, born from the dancing body. Free entry / no registration needed. We’re excited to share Danilo Andrés‘ VERTICAL GROWLERS, an Open Studio Show closing their residency at Das LOT. In Vertical Growlers, Danilo Andrés brings together a group of performers/vocalists and one climbing expert to research a vocal score that will be performed while climbing a selected building inside the Ankerbrot complex. The performers will interact with the arquitecture using their breath and various vocal sounds, sounds that will oscillate at the edge between laughter and crying, lamentation and sexual pleasure, illness and enlightenment. Danilo Andrés, queer Latin-american choreographer & vocalist, proposes a decolonial gesture here, in the performers‘ use of their breath and voices to enchant, weaken, and cause the building’s architecture to lose its power. In other words, „Vertical Growlers“ is not only an research, but also signifies the creation of a new decolonial performative practice. The Residency time at das LOT, was dedicated to the research and experimentation between voice performance, sound design & vertical walk. ARTISTS:
