There is only white. An empty space. A possibility. Nothing has happened yet. Then, a presence. A gesture. A thought. A woman behind the mask. And somewhere between an idea and a first gesture, something begins to appear. Paris. A new creation. Coming soon. From stage to nature. The theatre gives us stories. Nature reminds us why we tell them. Every image begins long before the camera is raised After photographing SIX The Musical, we returned to what has always inspired our work: movement, light and silence. Because creativity doesn't stop when the audience leaves. It simply changes its stage. — Danilo Moroni Movement & Original Sound by me @danilomoroni.studio www.danilomoroni.com by @danilomoroni.studio

DAY 4 Cameras are ready. Files are transferred. Images are reviewed. Every decision shapes the story before a single frame is published. Photography doesn't end when the shutter closes. That's where another part of the work begins. Behind the scenes. In Ballet of Lights – Sleeping Beauty Photography is not only about documenting a performance. It is about preserving the atmosphere that exists for only a fraction of a second. A fleeting moment. There is a moment before every photograph when everything is still possible. The theatre. The lights. The equipment. The people behind the scene. The shadows waiting to become something else. Working at Teatro EDP Gran Vía reminded me why I still feel the same excitement when everything is finally in place and the light comes on. Photography is not only the instant I press the shutter. It is everything we build to make that instant possible. One body creates a gesture. Many bodies create a structure. I am still looking at movement. Only the point of view has changed. Movement is not always visible. Sometimes movement is held inside: in the weight of the shoulders, the position of the hands, the tension of a body that appears to be still. . This is me. Movement was my first language, long before photography became another way of understanding it. In this image I am both subject and photographer. The body moves. The camera records ... 2219 from the Trace serie I am still exploring the same thing I was exploring as a dancer: weight, time, space and transformation. Movement was my first way of understanding the body, space and time. Years of dancing taught me to recognise weight, tension, balance and the instant in which a gesture begins to change. Photography came later, but that knowledge never disappeared. It became part of the way I look through a camera. Danilo Moroni.
