@daninamoguel puts up a rework of SMASHED. In this take, she placed her inner objects in specific circles of attention to shape her focus in the scene. We also personalized each person she was addressing in the room, to give her more inner obstacles that she would have to overcome moment to moment in real time.

Filmmaker James Ponsoldt and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who played Kate in the original film, worked with Ivana Chubbuck on the role. It’s fascinating to study a character and film in class that was originally shaped by the technique. That keeps the work in conversation, in the same way that a cover of an original song is an opportunity for the new artist to participate in the storytelling from their own consciousness, point of view and lived experience.

Danina is in Belgrade and as an international actor has worked and lived in Mexico and Serbia, which has given her an abundance of experience to draw upon for her inner work. So this is her using the material to communicate something unique to her. Her inner work is then not only fuel, but also her own contribution to this character.

Here is what Winstead said about originally working with Ivana on the role:

“Together we found this coach named Ivana Chubbuck who has this book called THE POWER OF THE ACTOR and she has a chapter specifically dedicated to playing drunk,” Winstead said. “We sat in a couple of classes, and we did one of the scenes in her class as well, so we used her method a lot for that. And that was really helpful because we just didn’t want it to feel like acting. How do you not act drunk, but not really be drunk? That’s a difficult thing to pull off.” by @daninamoguel

Congrats to @daninamoguel, who plays a recurring role on the Serbian series NASLEDSTVO (INHERITANCE). Her first episode aired this week.

She is Ana Blazin, a mob’s secretary who has been poisoned and remains in all the characters’ memories and flashbacks.

Here’s what Danina shared about filming her first intimate scene on screen: “The biggest challenge for me was to do a love-making scene with one of the main characters because it was the first time I worked on an intimate scene. At first I was very nervous and so was my colleague but I was very fortunate and grateful to work with a director that is so open and communicative and knew what he wanted in the scene. We discussed professionally prior to shooting his vision and he allowed us both to make suggestions to make a beautiful, sensual moment onscreen. My scene partner is also a great gentleman which made it all easy and it created for me a safe space on set. Everyone was so professional and at the end we played a lot and let the scene flow in the most organic way.”

Danina is repped by Slavic Artists. Her upcoming credits include the TV series PUPIN and the films DJECA KOZARE and the movie HAND OF JUSTICE. by @daninamoguel
